  1. LOL. No, that was a different pageant and I remember that one. Talking about DUMB. That interview is so embarrasing, and she is so void of anything upstairs, I honestly have a hard time watching the whole thing. I usually can get only half-way through before I have to shut it off. The fact that people like her can coast through their early years on looks alone makes me so very angry.
  2. Was this the contestant? ;D
  3. As far as the MH LTA's are concerned, the 08's are much faster than previous models. Actually, the MH's are listed as extra-fast. I'm not sure about the medium powered rods. They are listed as fast, like they always. I hope the M's are not faster. I've been meaning to call Kistler to ask them this very same question.
  4. Thanks for the ideas guys. I think I see a melting pot in my future Raul. That way I can use the hooks of my choice and really customize my jigs as far as color is concerned. I almost bought a mold years back for catfish sinkers....looks like I have that itch again. I remember seeing a Do-It ad that had a guy holding a huge walleye, all smiles, the caption read something like 'Pride is something you get from catching a 30" walleye on a jig you made yourself.' So very true.
  5. As we all know, shakey head jigs have been hot the past few years. Heck, G. Loomis even came up with a tech specific 'shakey head' series of rods. As most know, jig-worms have been around for a long time. What's killing me, and my pocketbook, is the outrageous prices of jigs since this craze started a few seasons ago. I can understand for paying a few bucks more for jigs like the Spot Remover Pro, because these jigs are truly technique specific: flat head; screw worm keeper. My complaint is paying over $1 a piece for the same old round ball jigheads that have been around for a long time. The only difference that a lot of these expensive jigheads have now, as opposed to a few years ago when they were sensibly priced, is the eye is bent at a 60* angle and turned flat. This is ridiculous! A buck a pop for a hook, and ball of lead....oh, that's right, the eye is bent. > Because of the 'shakey' craze, so many companies have recycled their old jigs models, given them a MINOR tweak, jacked up the price, and now resell them as 'shakey jigs.' >
  6. How's that? Didn't the chubbies win yesterday? Taken 27 innings over the last two games. Forgot about that....the Phillies gotta be lovin' it. If they can get to Chicago's starters, the pen is in trouble.
  7. Last year I used Ultra-Soft for the first time; I spooled 8# on both a Sol baitcaster and a TD-Z 103ML. These reels are mounted on a St. Croix EC68MXF and a Loomis BCR852, respectively. I freakin' loved the stuff. It handled my jig-worms and T-rigs very well. It's a very user friendly line.
  8. Don't say that to John Daly. ;D
  9. How's that? Didn't the chubbies win yesterday?
  10. The traditional 5th anniversary gift is wood.....got any balsa cranks laying around? ;D
  11. Welcome to the forum Sharkbite.
  12. A Sir Duke would be awesome. I'm really hoping to hear I Was Made To Love Her. I can't wait. The good seats really sweeten the deal. Heck, I'd be happy with crummy seats, just as long as I'm there. What year did you see Stevie Muddy?
  13. HEG stands for High Efficiency Gearing. It is basically a powerful gear system. It makes a big difference when working lures such as deep cranks and spinnerbaits.
  14. Last week I bought tickets to see Stevie Wonder at Summerfest in Milwaukee. I've been waiting my entire life to see this guy, as he doesn't tour much. We got great seats too. I can't wait; Stevie Wonder is one of my all-time favs.
  15. The Crew opened up their season @ Miller Park today with a 13-4 crushing of the Giants. Billy Hall had two tape measure shots. I couldn't get off work. > This is only the third home opener I've missed since the early 90's. I can't complain too much though, as I am going to the game tomorrow with a bachelor party. We have a big coach bus, a ton of beverages and grub, and about 45 rowdy guys...It should be a blast.
  16. Beef = medium well Game = medium rare
  17. I have an older Symetre 1000FH, and I swear that thing is smoother than some of my Stradics. *Edit- I meant the 1000FH, not the 100FH (although I'm sure ya'll got what I meant).
  18. As far as the 2500 Sahara is concerned, I would definitley recommend it. I have two mounted on St. Croix PS76MLF's. I use these rods for casting slip-bobbers to walleye. I can't even count the number of times I've been daydreaming, only to have a buddy yell 'bobber down', then I hastliy grab my rod and reel up a bunch of slack line...the Sahara has handled the slack line very well. I've fished with these reels for a few years now and they have really stood up to my abuse, as fumbling with and banging long bobber rods around in the boat just plain happens. They also see a lot of abuse when trying to get a 7'6" rod out of my back door, and putting that long rod in the back of a buddies' truck. These reels really hold up well. A great deal for only $60.
  19. [quote author=182F28363F235A0 link=1202685236/210#212 date=1207280265Seriously, Fielder looks like a caricature out there. With those super baggy sultan pants and that huge gut. I hadn't had a chance to watch a game this week until today and I almost fell out of my chair laughing at Fielder.
  20. As long as he belts at least 40 dingers this year, I could care less what he looks like. I don't see him hitting 50 like last year after Yost swapped him and Braun in the order.....but who cares, now a manager has to think twice about walking the big man. If a team does they'll have Braun to face. That switched worked immensely in the very first game of the season. I know were only one series in, but I'm not to worried about Fukedome. Monday he had a great game because no one knew how to pitch to him, as he changed the approach he used all spring. Wed he went 0-3 with 2 K's, and today his only hit was misplayed by a rookie leftfielder, and add more K to his total. I guess anything to get you poor cubs fans going.
  21. I haven't heard someone mention the Apple River for years. In college, we would do the whole drunken tube trip thing on the Apple. I think I dumped as much beer on my head as I drank. ;D
  22. Always a good thing to welcome a new sponser.
  23. The majority of my bass fishing is done from our dock, which is situated on a medium sized flat. Several years ago I dropped a few BIG brushpiles in; the difference is night and day. Not only am I catching more as far as numbers are concerned, but I'm catching more quality fish as well. Last year on opening weekend (first sat in May) I caught the second biggest LB of my life right off one of our piles. A 4" Senko, T-rigged, did the trick. She went a solid six pounds.
  24. This got a good chuckle outta me. ;D
  25. It's great to see another cheesehead on the forum.
