  1. Did you upgrade? Suggestions? Not yet, it's on my short list. I have a few holes to fill in my arsenal. If you want to do the job yourself, check out www.smoothdrag.com. As far as the carbontex drag upgrade, Daiwa baitcaster set #1 should do the trick. If you are not comfortable doing the upgrade, shoot forum member The Reel Mechanic a pm.
  2. I enjoy watching his show because he's usually casting a DC Calcutta, Calais, or a stock Calais. Cool Pic.
  3. I have a 103ML and absolutely love it. Everyone has pretty much covered all the pros to the TD-Z. The only con I can think of is I am not 100% impressed with the stock drag. Other than that it's a sweetheart. The TD-Z has soft plastics written all over it. I have mine on a BCR852 GLX, and it's a match made in heaven. The 103ML has an IPT of 24; this really helps me slow down and not overwork my rig, as I use the 852 for a lot of finesse work.
  4. After a little minor surgery, those would look great underneath a tip-up.
  5. As long as it's only used to call questionable dingers/foul balls, I'm all for it. Besides, if the games take longer, then the patrons have more time to sober-up after beer sales cease in the 7th.
  6. ;D Not bad...that's recyclable.
  7. You just now figuring that out? WTH happened anyway? I heard a blurb on XM, didn't get the whole story. Nothing too crazy. Braun got plunked in the 5th. St Louis hates him. Next time he hits a dinger @ Busch, I hope he rounds the bases with his arms out airplane style. Later in the game Villy loaded the bases for the Crew, then got out of it. He pumped his fist a few times and Pujols, who was on-deck, didn't like it one bit. Kendall had to get in-between the two. Again, nothing too crazy. I just laugh at the fact that St. Louis can do what ever they want, and it's all good. But if someone else tries it, it's looked at as showboating and classless.
  8. I find it funny that people refer to St. Louis as one of the classiest teams in the majors. :
  9. Ya gotta carry those Giant Jackpots, Believers, Grandmas, and Bulldawgs in something.
  10. One of my first ever confidence baits. Also one of the first baits where I've opened the package on the boat, tied on, and caught a bass on the first few casts. I've had Sammy fever lately, so the Spit'n Image is taking a little break.
  11. Yea but all the other companies will give it real creative ripoff names like orange shad, sunshine shad, florida shad, etc. I'm sure they'll be some creative sexy shad ripoffs too. Probably attractive shad, foxy shad, erotic shad, hot shad, bangin' shad... ;D
  12. With such a beautiful thing like mustard, why would you want to? Granted, I eat mine plain once in awhile if they are stellar brats, but a brat is meant to eaten with kraut and a bit of the yellow stuff.
  13. Good luck tally. I never had as much fun bass fishing as I did as a student. After pulling an all-nighter to work on an essay or my thesis, I'd reward myself by bassin' in the AM before crashing. Coffee, cigs, and buzzbaits....now that's motivation right there. ;D
  14. It is accurate. They will load up some with 1/8 oz. especially the seven footer. If you get one I would suggest the 7' model. I think you would be happier unless you don't like longer rods. The 7' is so much fun to fish small cranks, topwaters, splitshot and dropshot rigged worms on. Thanks Jimzee, just what I was looking for. I have put a lot of thought into the 7 footer. I do a ton of casting off of our dock, and the extra length is appealing. I just have a feeling I am going to really like the LTA blank for tip-down presentations, hence the shorter model and a tuff decision I have to make.
  15. Since we're talking Kistlers I have a question about the medium powered LTA's: the M's are rated down to 1/8oz, how accurate is this? Do the medium powered LTA's load well with an 1/8oz bait? I ask because I have been searching for an all-purpose, finesse moving-bait stick; something for cranks, jerks, small spinnerbaits, and little topwaters. I have been thinking about teaming the He63MC, or the He66MC, with a Conquest 51.
  16. I sure will, wife left me a Revo STX by the coffee pot this morning, already made plans for tomorrow. ;D You got a keeper there. Happy B-day.
  17. I own the 'Creature' rod in Loomis' muskie series. It's made for jigs and BIG plastics, and is screaming for a new Curado 301 E.
  18. No kidding. Unfreakinbelievable!!! > :( At least the 400 was a sweep.
  19. Of all the hats in my rotation, a Milwaukee Brewers BP cap has seen the most time on the water. The flex-fit is comfy, and it breathes well.
  20. Happy cake day Bassn and grimlin. I'll turn the big 3-0 on Sunday. I'll probably spend most of the day trying to sleep my hangover off, then do some bassin after supper. We're going to the county fair Sat night, then the guys are taking me out to the towny local-yokel establishments.
  21. And he only gave it four stars out of five?
  22. Plus at least one more. The standard Zillion has six bearings plus the roller, the hyperspeed sports eleven plus the roller. Also, in the hyperspeed all of the bearings are corrosion resistant. The standard Zillion has four CRBB and two BB.
  23. I've spent the last two nights picking one out of my Sol. I deserved this one though. I was casting a wacky rigged senko on a Jackall weedless wacky jig head, so the reel was set-up pretty wide open. I had already caught one fish and shoulda replaced the senko; I figured nah, one more fish. As soon as I started a sharp cast the senko flew off, and resulted in an out-of-commission Sol. Unfortunately Gamma Co-poly isn't cheap.
