  1. Man, you ain't a kidding. Wainwright ruled and Brew Town's bats drooled. Not scoring in the third really killed the crew.
  2. Fraying shouldn't be a problem, unless you hack at the line for a bit with a dull blade. A sharp, small scissors will do the trick. If worse comes to worse, a quick shot with a lighter will help frayed ends.
  3. Just the other day, the Patrick Cudahy plant in SE Wisco had a five alarm fire. The plant is a monster bacon/pork facility. What the heck is going on here? I wonder if PETA has been going covert.
  4. We call the ladder game "toss" ;D Pretty much the same here in Wisco, as we call it Tossin'
  5. Great deal! You're gonna love that stick. It's fantastic for finesse jigs, wacky worms, tubes, etc. I mounted a Sol on mine, and the balance is perfect...not to mention the color combination is pretty sweet.
  6. Superline is a must if you're going to fish on top of heavy cover. It'll really help cut through the slop. I usually fish mono/coploy for other topwater and cranks, but if I have to use a rod with braid for these apps, I back the drag off just a bit more than usual. This will act as a small buffer, and keep the trebles from ripping out. As long as this isn't a dedicated heavy cover rig, your 14lb should be fine. Otherwise, if you're going to be fishing more cover than not, go with a superline.
  7. Take what's left after filleting a mess of panfish, and put into a styrofoam cooler. Add corn meal and flour to thicken. Also add anything else that comes to mind to spice-up your mix, like chewing tobacco, cheese, old fishing scent that's been sitting for years, etc. Cover cooler and wrap in duct tape. Place cooler on roof, away from animals, and let bake in sun for a few days. Mix paste and use on dip worms, or spoon into cheese cloth or the misses' stockings. Nasty stuff, but it'll work something powerful.
  8. Congratulations Dave. 8-) God bless.
  9. Will you be fishing cover? What will you be using this combo for? T-rigs, jigs, cranks, topwater, etc?
  10. Well, at least Im not a Reds fan........Still gonna win the series!!!!! Uuugghh. I had Cueto starting last night on my fantasy team. 2/3 of an inning and an era of 121.00. Not pretty.
  11. What was the LE marked down to? Spin or cast? Brown blank or 09' blank? Those Slim Shads look terrific in the water. Nice haul.
  12. They must have a TON of the XML's. Word has been out for a bit, and this is all over several message boards. I'm thinking about the 5'6" model.
  13. Amen srv1990. He really is something special. He's been a granny monster as of late. RBI's are a dime-a-dozen. He's a class act too. I read the story about how his wife/gf didn't mention, at first, her son had down syndrome. When Albert found out, he was all about helping her and her son.
  14. 'Mean Streets.'
  15. People can laugh all they want. Whenever I am fishing my BCR GLX I know I have the most sensitive rod I have ever handled. If feeling more bites and catching more fish is something to poke fun of, well, then laugh away...I know I'll be smiling too.
  16. Used it to repair one of my straps on my boat cover. Also used it to hang up the wife's bird feeders and windchimes. See, braid has uses after all. ;D Last year I gathered all my odd filler spools of braid, all with a few yards left, and used them to hang feeders as well. I have Power Pro and Stren hanging from quite a few of our trees. ;D
  17. Don't know if this will help, as I've never fished the Teaser, but I've been told the 'fast' rating is spot-on. I've also been told the 7ft, MH LTB is a meat stick.
  18. I picked up a Fenwick Elite Tech walleye riggin rod on fleabay for under $100. I got lucky. Though I bought it for Lindy rigs for 'eyes, it makes a killer shakey rod for bass...nice soft tip, sensitive, etc.
  19. One of my favorites too...I had to show my ma.
  20. You'll get to see him soon enough. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090627&content_id=5574664&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb Bad feeling about that coming back to haunt us. G.P.- You and your family have a great time at the Game tomorrow. Go Mets!!! ;D ;D Thanks. I'm really excited. I haven't seen a game with my old man since last season. The Mets are dinged up big time, even with our terrible SPing we may have a shot.
  21. People have been doing extremely well on the great lakes with the Gulp Alive goby.
  22. Are there any Netbait pro-staffers that can tell us when the website will finally be updated???
  23. Minus the baseball thread, where we're supposed to talk trash, I think we're ok...cubs suck.
