  1. Looks like Joe Nathan might be on the shelf for 2010. While guys are busy drafting Broxton or Rivera, I planned on swooping in and picking up Nathan. BUMMER!
  2. Here ya go: http://tackletog.com/superttuning/2010/03/05/custom-r-tuned-pixy/
  3. Have you actually read the article posted by the guy who built this reel?
  4. I believe that's them. I didn't get a good look; the ebay auction was closing, so I threw in a low offer at the end. The lot was ten packs, and I got them for under a buck a pop. I figured I'd give them a shot.
  5. I scored a ten pack of these the other day. They are coming from overseas, so I haven't had a good look at them yet. Any comments?
  6. If possible, and you can wait to save up a bit more dough, the best bet would be to buy both. That way you'll have both ends of the spectrum covered, and it will definitely add to your confidence on the water.
  7. Great people to deal with. I ordered a batch of baits this winter, so they've yet to see water. They definitely are quality baits. He has a wide array of great color patterns too. If you do an internet search, you'll find a lot of positive feedback. They are very flexible, and will work with you. I am having him make me a batch of T-S baits that dive down to about 8ft.
  8. Are you a fan of Sammy Smith's Oatmeal Stout? It's one of my favs. Now THAT's a good beer. I remember the first time I had a bottle. It was the late 90's, and I was partying in the parking lot at Alpine Valley, awaiting a Phish show. I think they were going for about four bucks, for a fatty bottle, in the lot scene back then. After my first sip, well, I can't really put it into words...but I knew I had found something special.
  9. Trying to cut the head off of the beast known as workman's comp.

  11. I did check these out because I was looking for a another, lesser expensive frogging rod. They had both HF rods, both the 1 piece rated for 1/2 - 1 1/2 oz and the 2 piece rated for 3/8 oz to 2 1/4 oz. I didn't really like the feel of the two piece. It felt stiffer at the tip without really having much more backbone in the mid section and base of the rod. The lure weights on those two rods are a bit misleading, IMO. Of the two, the 1 piece would be the way to go as they usually are. I personally like using a 7' 6" MHF flipping stick for trolling and casting spoons and bucktails under 1.25 oz. I didn't realize that model is a two piece. Thanks for the info. 8-)
  12. If you frequently fish light-moderate cover, you have the right stick. If not, and you fish more open water, I think you'll get more finesse out of Croix's MLXF spinning rods, than the MXF's JMO.
  13. Do you think that the Avid would be to whipy for bottom bouncing baits? I am thinking about the hook set on a med. light 7 footer. Would there be too much rod bending before you get to the meat of the hook-set? I was close to getting Avid 6'9" mlxf and considered a 7' ml myself but backed off because of the whipyness. I could see these rods for reaction baits (less sensitivity needed), but for bottom bouncing plastics (more sensitivity needed)? I have a 6'9"MLXF Avid spinning rod, and it works great for bottom contact baits. In fact, when I am casting very small leadheads for spring walleye, I sometimes find the 6'9" MLXF rods a bit too stout and opt for their 7'MLF sticks.
  14. What's the fun in that? ;D I wanna catch bass how I wanna catch bass. A 4.5" straight tail Roboworm, on a shaky jig is my fail-safe.
  15. I am a vitamin nut. I save the moisture absorbent capsules in each bottle of supplements, and store them with my tackle. Most of them find a home where I store my cheaper monofilament. My expensive line gets stored in a waterproof case for ammo.
  16. My buddy had the kit with the Banjo Frogs. When he went out on the water with my partner and me, he really wouldn't fish much; if anything, he caused more problems than not. Anyways, he would cast a Banjo Frog and let it trail behind the boat. He always had three or four fish blow up on it every outing...but he was too busy screwing around to pick up his rod and set the hook.
  17. Nope, The Prince is a Diamonback rod, Tooth Tamer is its own entity. In regards to the Prince, I have the rod and love it for multiple things. I fish inlines, spinnerbaits, a few topwaters, and swimbaits with it. It really does excel at bladed baits, however. One of the best rods in my arsenal. Very cool. Thanks to you and pgersumky. 8-)
  18. Has anyone handled the 7' H? I am referring to the one with the 3/8-2 1/4 rating. I have been looking for an inexpensive stick for dardevles.
  19. Buy with confidence...great site.
  20. Fantastic walleye bait.
  21. Same here. I chew Garrett, but only while fishing or at a ball game...especially when I'm fishing while listening to a ball game. ;D
  22. No kidding. I logged on to TT the other night, and my only intention was to browse the tackle forums...by the time I logged off, I was the new owner of a IMX CR721.
  23. Raul, are you referring to the Air Viper Softics?
  24. Are they now the company that makes 'The Prince?' I heard it is one heck of a bucktail rod.
