  1. Cut the stock hooks off, use a split ring when replacing. Do this. Much easier, and takes the leverage advantage away from the fish; the hooks will move freely and with the fish.
  2. That's a bummer. This may be the only Jackall product that I've been disappointed in.
  3. Pretty cool Sam. Through my years as a scout, and then as a leader, our troop unfortunately never made it to a Jamboree or Philmont.
  4. Wow! Lots of deals leading up to the deadline. Texas, SD, and LA got a lot of help. On the flip-side, I can't believe Houston didn't get crap for Oswald and Berkman; they really got hosed. Unfortunately Melvin and Co. decided to stand pat in Brew Town...pretty freakin' stupid.
  5. x2. I am a big fan of the scent as well.
  6. Keep in mind everyone, this new crap starts on Aug 1st. Yes, four more days. I noticed they don't mention the change on their home page for the Xpeditor service. S..H..A..D..Y.. http://www.gloomis.com/publish/content/gloomis_2010/us/en/conventional/support.html If everything goes down like it sounds like it will, well, what an insult. First they butter us up at Icast with the rod to end all rods, then they slip in the old 'oh yea, now our warranty program stinks.'
  7. x2. Good thinking; I hope it works out.
  8. How badly does this stuff dig into bc reels? I think that is the only reason I haven't splurged yet.
  9. I have to admit, I've been curious about the 7'2" and 8' ML spinning in the Gold series. The reason being their construction. I am always on the lookout for a new slip-bobber rod for 'eyes. If possible, I would like a rod that is buck-naked. The above rods fit that criteria. The rods I use for this presentation must have a soft tip, in order to protect the live bait on the cast. Leeches are hearty enough to stay put, but minnows are a different story. I like to make long casts, to cover water, so a soft tip is a must. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the above rods, as E21 has never returned my calls. : I have been using St Croix Premiers for this task, and I'm curios if the Gold Series trumps them in sensitivity. I would like to step-up the the LT Walleye Slip Sticks, but I don't have that kind of cash right now.
  10. Yup. My BCR 852 GLX is definitely faster than my LEC68MXF. The BCR's are crisper as well, at least in my hands.
  11. I crossbreed rods and reels all of the time. I recently have been fishing an Antares AR on a Zillion 7' MXF, and a Chronarch 51Mg on a 6' Steez. Not only do they perform wonderfully, but they also look bad arse. *Forgot to add...if you are looking to match/compliment colors, a brown blank, like the previous Legend Elites or the new Dobyns DX's, match superbly with a Shimano Conquest/Calcutta or Daiwa Sol.
  12. Walleye guys and gals. They're deadly.
  13. when I ran XC, I could rarely eat anything at lunch without it affecting my run, lol. No doubt. Race days were even worse; I grew quite tired of dry toast and water for breakfast. LOL. One year at state, our fifth runner screwed-up his ankle during warm-ups. Unfortunately our sub had eaten a huge stack of strawberry pancakes that morning...he didn't run so well. LOL.
  14. Great idea Micro. Do you happen to know how a Lobina Rico sits in the water? I may buy some tonight, and I'm curious if they float entirely, like the Pop grande, or if the body sinks, like the Skitter Pop? -Thanks
  15. Yup! Kopper's new lures look great too. 8-) Heck yea. They are one of the few manufacturers that got my blood pumping.
  16. I remember one incident during cross-country practice in HS. We were supposed to have a weight training day, so I pigged out at lunch. I ate a double Cajun burger, a grilled polish sausage, and a Cincinnati chili dog. Well, someone must have ticked off our coach, because we ended up doing a seven mile run that day. Needles to say, I was puking and dry heaving for about 3/4 of that run.
  17. Children corrupting babies. 14/15 aren't babies, nor children. No kidding, get off the guy's balls.
  18. They sure do, and it has been my most productive floating worm over the years.
  19. How much line do you need? More than 90 yards of 12lb test. I want something I can put a lot of 15-17lb test on. I agree Dan. I don't flip, and I rarely pitch; most of my fishing is comprised of making long casts off of our dock.
  20. It's called the Tierra. It would be nice to see an offering from Daiwa, in this price range, that's not a tank.
  21. Are you referring to these? http://www.***.com/Zoom_Shakey_Head_Worm_5_20pk/descpage-ZSHW.html
  22. Easy enough to purchase a 200E7 or 5, purchase Citica E gearing and replace. Not for us southpaws. Leftys and gingers have no souls. Apparently Shimano shares your sentiments. Genetic defects aren't their problem. When you put it that way, I guess we do have a drinking problem 'round here. ;D Still no reason for Shimano to discriminate against alcoholic babies.
