Some of you aren’t reading the question - it’s not a gut-hook; the fish took his plastic with a screw head.
Those fish will almost certainly be fine. More than likely they spit the plastic after they realized it was plastic. Even if not that should pass through them fine, if maybe slowly.
If it’s smooth pvc and you have the rods with reels on them in there and you are driving, you are adding weight as it slams the tip section into the end of the tube. If two rods are in there together and even a little interlinked you have the weight of two rods on whatever tip is sticking further out at the end. I take the reels off, foam in the ends and stuff a few plastic bags or rags in either end so the rods can’t move much.

It’s fun to watch the start but then it just gets disgusting. You can see the pain on their faces as the cram it down. 60 dogs is about 16,000 calories- about 8 days worth of eating in 10 minutes. Yowzah!
It’s weirdly impressive but I always go back to the saying - Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
btw - I could probably get a dozen in in ten minutes. Not proud of it; it just is.
