  1. I have Webroot Antivirus. It's a cmpany out of Boulder, CO that I used to have profoessional contact with when I lived there. It costs $20-40 for up to three computers. Loads fast, they have great online help, they'll backup your system, and they will access you computer remotely if needed to help you fix whatever is fragged. It's a great product and it loads fast.
  2. Common sense sometimes ain't so common. There's certainly no harm in telling Johnny Law that you have your (insert weapon of choice here) on your hip before you take your hand past that hip to reach for your wallet, is there? No argument and no doubt there' s some Barney Fifes, but he/she's out there doing his/her job, trying to keep the rest of us knuckleheads safe, the least you can do as a legal carrier if you're stopped and have to reach for anything remotely near your wepon is tell them you have it, and the paperwork for it. If you make afurtive movement for your weapon and he/she plugs you, the court is certainly going to back him/her.
  3. I use a fluoro leader in clear water, slow presentations (jigs, tx rigs) where fish *might* see the lie, and occasionally when I'm having trouble with the limp braid fouling teh front treble hook. Other than that, no.
  4. What's revealed? You can't honestly tell me that you haven't seen people at the range who just had a handgun to have a handgun, so they could carry, feel tough about themselves, and show of for their friends. We're getting a little off topic in the topic, but I would say the majority of people with CCWs don't practice enough at the ranges and times to make them any safer. I'm absolutely and advocate of CCW, but I think there should be better (not necessarily more) training and testing for people before they're allowed to run around with a handgun, for their safety and the safety of others.
  5. With some people, absolutely. It'd be silly to argue that.
  6. I think you might have partially made my point. The last thing anybody wants is for you to reach for your wallet for ID/license and have your concealment garment slip open, and that overreactive Barney Fifer think you're going for your weapon. It's just a situation that could be avoided with some removal of testosterone. But to each his/her own.
  7. Nor they yours
  8. While it'd be silly to just run up to every cop you see and ell them you're carrying, I would think good sense would dictate that if you were stopped for something else, that you be up front about it. Officers/agents declare it for safety reason if they interact in plain clothes (i.e. a federal agent getting pulled over for speeding). It just makes alot of stupid accidents less likely to happen.
  9. Try using it with an extremely light keel weighted hook, like 1/32 oz. You don't want to sink it, you just want that weight to keel the bottom It heps the action tremendously.
  10. X100 on what Fishingbuds just said.
  11. He does have a sweet 'stache though...until his face rots off.
  12. That's because it's so cold there! My wife's from Chicago/Lisle
  13. I have two MH Bionic Blade two piece spinning rods that I use for pike and bass. They travel well and are well rounded rods, jack of all trades if you will. They do alot of stuff well, not much great. But they are extremely adequate. They've held up to 10 lb+ pike and carp and bass over five pounds. PS- I also have a 2 piece Tourney Special, ML spinning that is good for treble hook lures, but the action on it is sssssssllllllllloooooooowwwwww.
  14. That's really not evn that big. I've seen some of tehm in golf course ponds that had to be pushing 90 lbs. Huge fish, just huge. You sure you're not talking about common or asian carp? Just asking,in no way confrontational.
  15. I'm not against carrying by any stretch, but if the gun is with you in the boat, how is it keeping you from getting your truck stolen?
  16. FYI Washington DC has been shut down for several days..., I told you better days were coming ;D Having Congress not in session probably saves us money. I'll have to give Obama credit, he seems to be keeping his appointments, dispite the weather.
  17. 10...9...8...
  18. There's one in the median of Commonwealth Ave near teh King St Metro stop (Alexandria, VA) that's about 8 ft tall. Someone put some effort into that one.
  19. 40-9=$31, UT taught me that. Sorry, bored.
  20. 7 or 8 foot three weight, depending on how open the area your fishing will be (7 footer is easier to manage in tighter quarters). I use 10 lb mono asmy leader and mayber tie in some 6 lb as a tippet. Past that, as mentioned small poppers, foam spiders, sliders (kinda like a backwards popper), wooly buggers in varying sizes with and without bead heads, rubber legged stone fly nymphs apprximate crawfish larvae. Take those and you'll be successful anywhere.
  21. They're all right. Except for the bow target, there's enough common carp for that.
  22. Remington's had several models of semi-auto guns in deer-appropriate calibers. I believe teh 7400 and 7600 were also semi-autos.
  23. Legend...wait for it and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the second half of this is...dary.
  24. I love that commercial, awesome. I ahd to seeit a couple times before I realized it WASN'T an Eharmony commercial.
