It probably won’t differ too much if you’re going lighter line/rod. Too much heavier tends to dampen the action on glides.

Well this last one I waited until last Thursday, at least one day too late… I had to jump it to take it to the mechanic for an appointment that I already had, so I just had them replace it. Usually with my 2006 4Runner I can tell pretty quick when it starts to struggle to turn over and can replace it pretty quick. That’s been about every 5 years.

Well now @A-Jay…after a few weeks of nothing, I got two in a few days (one of which I clearly caught a couple days before I saw that the trap was tripped…ew). I’m going to let the traps air out from the stink of death and see where new mounds come up.

What actually happens in most cases is my insurance company talks to the other party’s insurance company and reviews the facts of the theft. Then they come to a decision about resolution, and possibly I pay my deductible. If I’m not at fault it is very unlikely that my deductible would change at all. as far as impersonating an attorney on the phone, I would see that as a high-risk, low likelihood of success tactic and would not.

If the boat was stolen or lost, no matter where it was, this would be a job for my insurance company.

It’s a balance between a heavy enough jig or t-rig to get it to depth but not so heavy as to sink it in the brush. I go as light as is functional and still lose baits. Once you have spawning catfish combined with beaver houses it’s just not worth it. I actually tend to try to fish them with spinnerbaits wherever possible.

Two things I noticed- 1. It looks almost comically out of balance with that 500. Nose high, porpoises on the run through from the drone view. Maybe a case of just because you could, doesn’t mean you should. 2. Bass Cat needs a new audio consultant for their videos. That music was either from an 80s porno or 90s B movie slasher. C. So if you want to got slightly larger project - You can add an access hatch in the rear deck so the you can access the interior of the hull. You would then be able to have backers for whatever mounting system you went with. Go to a kayak shop if possible to buy your BlackPack or equivalent and talk to them about where you want to mount it. They should have ideas, equipment, and experience. For me, I would zip tie a milk crate and fish it the rest of the year before I did anything else. Figure out how you fish and what you use most in it before you start drilling holes. A well-planned less is very much more on a small kayak. Edit - I’m also sure Brooklyn Kayak would give you some options on it. Great company

It always seemed to me that flatheads fought more like a striper with fast movements and changes in directions, even had one ‘jump’ once (it was more of a wallow). Blues are like hooking a passing submarine; they want to take you where they want to go. In DC they seemed to roll more than they do in NC, I don’t know why that is.

Common Sucker or possibly a big golden redhorse sucker? It’s so hard to differentiate suckers…

I have the scissors trap that @A-Jay recommended. Easy to use and move but I’ll be darned if I’ve got my mole(s) yet… They move a lot.

I refill at Costco by weight. Less than half the cost of exchange and they seem to last about twice as long. I bought my own tanks new.

In very general terms, one would use a Carolina rig to cover more water than a Texas rig. Generally you fish a c-rig like a deep crank, reeling and stopping, across longer underwater stretches. You can vary the leader length and plastic used for whatever you are fishing. It works great with slightly buoyant baits like Zmans, especially stick baits and flukes.
