  1. With his workout routine, @A-Jaycan probably lift his himself 😀…
  2. What he said. When are they coming off? My experience with Trokars was that they were too sharp and can cut a hole that the hook can then fall out.
  3. In my mind, if your lower unit at the back of the boat hits something and rips the outboard free of the transom or jack plate, the physics of that then overtaking the boat itself still moving forward makes no sense. The only thing I could see is steering cables and/fuel line maybe pulling the hull back to it. Now if you center something shallow with the hull that stops you in your tracks , then I could see the inertia of that outboard ripping out of the transom and continuing forward.
  4. It’ll be cool to see the installation. FWIW, im still not sold on a linear collision causing the several hundred pound engine at the back to do a full flip forward and land in the cockpit, but this definitely should diminish any chance of that at all.
  5. If you have to complain about the price, you can’t afford it. 😀
  6. Oh what I would give to catch these cookie cutter 3 lb smallmouths all day…
  7. Sometimes Mother Nature just flexes a little.
  8. That sounds like your knot slipped, leaving the curly. Snapping turtle bites feel like someone hitting your hook with a rock.
  9. I was going to crack a joke about ‘lover back’ but I’m just glad you two are still swinging. Good to hear.
  10. Still better than the NBA…
  11. 20 lb Yozuri Hybrid or Big Game, or CXX even. All are good. 25 lb if you want to whip it and keep it. I sometimes prefer the snap off on backlashes rather than having a big bait coming back at me. ‘burning’ a knot happens when you cinch it without any lubricant- the friction weakens the line at the knot.
  12. I don’t use them now, but I never had a problem tightening/loosening my wing nuts with needle nosed pliers. Just mind that you don’t touch both terminals.
  13. That depends on the motor- of the three I purchased new, they all had different terminal ends. I just swapped greased and shrink tubed what I needed on.
  14. I have to the same connectors as MN Fisher. At the end of the day, I clip to trolling motor, clip in the charger and BOOM… you’re charging.
  15. I actually got married there. I loved that lake when we lived in DC about a decade ago. I haven’t seen it lately- it’s a shame that it would go so far downhill.
  16. Wake bait or space monkey on top. So much fun.
  17. Your redneck arse rows!
  18. I switched to Fins 40g going on a year now and it has been phenomenal. It is good for anything, smooth and great abrasion resistance.
  19. I use a 60 aH lithium for my 55 lb Powerdrive. I’ve never run it down in a day of fishing. I’m on 1-2 all day long. Mine is a non-name brand. I’ve had it for 5+ years.
  20. Taking 100 lbs out of the front would definitely make it sit more nose higher and affect how it tracks. I took the deck out of my small tin and a similar issue especially when solo. I just put a 45 lb sandbag towards the nose and it helps.
  21. Fun series right to the end. Now if we can just get over the hump in football and basketball….
  22. I concur with the esteemed Mr Brown. If you want it within a few feet of the bottom in anything but 10 ft or less, it’s more efficient to fish it on a Carolina rig. This is one spot where I do rig it slightly nose up so that it pops up on the twitch. But to answer the original question- probably 1/16 or 1/8 oz on the bigger sizes. Any weight really kills the smaller ones.
  23. I don’t think it’s rained in Charlotte for two weeks, and the temps are in the 90s. Small problems compared to S Florida and Minnesota
  24. Don’t sleep on Badin - that place is a great bass lake.
