  1. I ate hickory nuts growing up in west TN - heck of a lot of work for not much return. We had about an acre of garden that I had to weed. More tomatoes, cukes, and okra than you could ever eat. Now I live in the city and have a 12x12 raised bed and some pots. Still get good tomatoes, peppers, and cukes but we’ve had a hard time with melons.
  2. Do you put little eviction notices up as you kick them out?
  3. I think I’m the 18-22 range it’s not going to matter. I’m actually safer from hooks in a smaller boat because the kids hit me with the rod instead of the hooks at the end. It’s probably going to be a matter of who you fish with and beyond that, weight.
  4. When you get out of high school for the morning to help your physics teacher get his cows back in the fence. also, when your football coach deer hunts from the press box.
  5. Both games today have been UGLY! SF driving right now with hopes of winning on a field goal in the snow…Garrapolo has been terrible, but the SF defense has been great Who saw that coming?
  6. I had Primanti Bros in Fort Lauderdale of all places for the first time. It was on spring break with a buddy of mine from Pittsburg. Doesn’t matter what one it was - those sandwiches were MAGIC
  7. I’d rather watch UT vs Purdue again, even though we lost.
  8. I have the same line of rod in M. Bought in 2008 for my honeymoon in Canada.
  9. Food question- are you going boneless/ skinless on those chicken thighs and trimming the fat or just enjoying the full schmaltz?
  10. I had a lab that looked just like her named Tempe (go Vols). She was the rarely seen rabbit Lab - I taught her to point rabbits (and quail, but public land had waaay more rabbits). She was too smart or lazy to chase them but it was very similar to pheasant hunting but flightless. There was a point in here - Our time with them is too short and they leave too early. And labs, especially yellow, are the best.
  11. The SEC got five more teams in bowls than the Big 12. People like to watch the SEC play and spend money to do it. Also - our two best teams and conference champs are in the CFP playoff, so everyone else moved up two notches. Doesn’t matter, record is record. But if that’s your barometer, wouldn’t OU be better off joining the MAC or one of the other conferences with a better bowl record?
  12. Don’t sleep on Cincinnati! And the Titans will be a tough out with Henry back.
  13. Ugh that was terrible - opts in and looked like a broken or horrifically sprained ankle. He’s fun to watch
  14. Just so I’m clear he’s only getting about a 4 hour reprieve - then I hope his carpets get fleas.
  15. Truth. But blood is thicker than water, and he got pelted with a battery, so I’m calling it even. He was actually pretty classy about the fans throwing stuff.
  16. Traitor. It’s the SEC #3ish vs the Big 12 champ!
  17. Holy crap what a great bowl season! Ole Miss/Baylor should be another fun matchup!
  18. You’re probably not reading the College Football thread….
  19. Are you an Oklahoma fan by chance? ?
  20. This what happens when the SEC plays the Big 10 in playoff games… The game sucks and we have to argue about SEC teams, even if they’re not in the SEC yet. the SEC is like parenthood. You think you know and you think you’re ready…and then BOOM - you’re covered in vomit, blood, and possibly poop and trying to figure out what happened RIP John Madden
  21. You’re going to fit in great!
  22. That’s a good nip!
  23. We have hope for our mediocre team after an even bigger dumpster fire than usual prior to hiring Huepel. OU will have to put up or shut up in the SEC so you can reference the Big 12 all you want, it’s a different conference. Big rivalry with Texas and maybe Oklahoma State but that doesn’t compare with playing Alabama, Georgia, and Florida every single year. Throw in Ole Miss and Kentucky (who we beat) in randomly good years and a loss to a great Pitt team and there’s our 7-6. There’s no feasting on cupcakes here - you better pack a sandwich. More sacred than politics, religion and Covid…
  24. You nailed it at the end. Managers’ job lives and dies on their people doing their job.
  25. Of course! Blind hope springs eternal! ? The way we lost this year was encouraging. And all of those losses were to teams that spent time in or near the top ten. it’s all mindless chatter until they play the game
