  1. The older I get, the more I learn to hire the person, not the skill set (obviously within reason). I’d rather teach someone that wants to be there than try to guide someone who doesn’t. I don’t think that’s changed in the 20+ years I’ve been interviewing/hiring people.
  2. While I prefer well water straight from the hose, I do like the unpasteurized version of coconut water. The canned versions vary widely from decent to utterly unpalatable.
  3. When I was in Colorado, I saw them built out of pvc and plexiglass- the actual rudder was about the size of a shoebox lid. I also saw people that just zip-tied a rudder to their trolling motor shaft above the motor, so that may be an option as well. The wind out there is no joke.
  4. Mine would sell me before the cats. Buy the person or by the lb.
  5. My general rule is if I feel like I need to carry to go fish a spot, I just don’t go fish that spot. I have better things to risk my life on.
  6. Your constant work on and in yourself is truly inspiring. I hope the personal life stress can be worked out.
  7. They used to sell it in the fish case in Kroger in Memphis. I remember asking my dad if it was the same Buffalo like Buffalo Bill shot. True story.
  8. The pics on the sonar company’s FB give a little better view - I would guess he was trimmed down but with the Jack plate as high as it would go. It came right out of the rails of the Jack plate. You can see where the cowling hit just forward of the transom where the steering cables exit the body. Still hard to believe this happened this way in a 40 mph collision and he was still in the boat and uninjured. But glad no one was hurt either way.
  9. If what is reported is what actually happened and they’re just out the Jack plate, they got miraculously lucky - could’ve EASILY been a total loss
  10. I find the odds of all of these things coming together with the pictured outcome…unlikely. It would actually make more sense if he hit the stump with the hull and full stopped.
  11. Pardon my skepticism, but you’re telling me that motor’s lower unit hit a stump hard enough to rip it and the Jack plate it was attached to and flip it up on the back the the boat while still running and there’s nary a scratch on that lower unit? And that contact and flip perfectly split those two Raptors without taking either out…at 40 mph??? The physics alone of having the motor hit a stump and flip forwards into a still-moving boat is questionable - Am I missing something?

    Objection your honor - conjecture.

Yeah, well you can GET THE F OFF MY LAWN! ? Doesn’t mean they did either. In many cases, it’s a mixture of legal and illegal acquisitions, so we’re both right.

If you look at many of the higher technologies, drones, etc of hostile countries, you will find parts from US companies. It speaks to the quality of our industry and technology. It doesn’t mean they got it through legal means.
  15. You’re overthinking it. Pick a couple knots and learn to tie them well. Learn how to tie a snell. Maybe a uni and a blood knot. Fish without worries.
  16. I could be wrong but I think VMax is a thin walled big expansion round for varmints like prairie dogs. They’re not for deer. He may have been catfishing with 4 lb test.
  17. +1 on @roadwarrior’s suggestion. They are fire ?
  18. I have a Frontier 12 and had a Pursuit as well. The Pursuit paddled fantastic. I have quick release mounts on my seats so I’m not sure what set-up is being referenced above unless he’s taking the mounts off the rails too. The Frontier paddles well once you find the right spot for your seat. It is not a race boat; it is not for someone who hates paddling. It is a great fishing platform that you can custom out and walk all over. I can walk bow to stern tip to tip in mine without problem. It is a fantastic fishing platform and mine is 9 years old. The new ones are supposed to be even better with a better design and more rails.
  19. I had two Nucanoes mounted on a harbor freight trailer. I never backed it into the water. It lasted for years and is still going as far as I know. Nothing wrong with them within their limits. If I were doing it now I would put bunks on it to fit the yak, just like a boat trailer. Easy on, easy off. Cart to the water if you can’t dump it close. If my kayak were so unwieldy that I needed to back the trailer in, I would get a boat. It’s really the same at that point.
  20. Oh. Heck. Yeah. Good luck!
  21. Seriously I don’t know how a franchise can look at his historical employment and then sell their future for a few months with him. just to be clear - I 100% understood why you didn’t need to account for bullet drop in a vertical shot. The person that said it, less so.
  22. I did see someone say: ‘If you shoot straight up you don’t have to compensate for bullet drop.” Still not sure if they were serious. 60,000 feet is about 11 miles.
  23. I think you missed a zero or two in there. There are a million with varying states of physical attractiveness of the presenter.
  24. 1. Had to Google Yanet Garcia. Had no idea she was a meteorologist. 2. Did anybody see it/take pics as it floated through your area?
