Consistency and price mostly. If the small pizza shop you’re patronizing isn’t a place you’ve had before it can be a huge roll of the dice. Also, kids. And kids’ birthday parties.
I doubt the clarity is affecting them. It’s more likely the warm water temperatures that go with the blooms and the post spawn blues that are decreasing their activity.

Big fishing is like hunting - you’re looking for a spot to run into a big fish. Find those spots for your water and fish an appropriate bait for those spots.
Google ‘bait wallet’ and then pick the size you need at whatever price point. I like Lakewood and have a large box by them. There’s also a ton of videos on the Swimbait websites about making hanging carriers from small Rubbermaid boxes.
There’s wallets similar to a spinner bait wallet, there hanging boxes you can make yourself, 3700 boxes with hooks or a rubber band at the end to hold the head, etc. there’s a million different solutions, just depends on how many baits
I have a couple c-10s on my ultralight rods. They are about 500 sized at best so I would think the c-20 is 1000 and the c-30 is 2000/2500ish. Ymmv
