  1. Thank's okiefisher8. Anyone done a comparison between these models ?
  2. I have been thinking about a dx744c for some time now, and just wondering if i am going to feel a big differance in sensitivity over my 704 and 705 champions . I plan on using this rod for texas rigs and jigs. the rod will be paired with a chronarch 51mg and braid and will be fished in 8' of water or less. If anyone has tried both please share your thoughts. thank's
  3. Dobyns 734c , revo sx. Used for buzz baits and spinner baits. 15lb big game
  4. Brokeju thank's for your pm advice on the frog rod. Found a good deal on the 704C and 734CFH and ordered them . Going to try the 734CFH for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. How does it cast 3/8 oz ? The 704C is going to be 3/16-3/8 oz texas rigs in heavy cover.
  5. Well i finally got to fish with my 705c and i have a big problem. I love this rod and need to buy more ;D. This rod seems powerful yet light and loades up nicely on the cast. I have decided to go with a 704 for my texas rigs. I tried my 705 with a spro frog and it casted very nice so i'm thinking of getting a dedicated frog rod. Trying to decide between 735 and 736. The 705 seems to be rated in between those two rods as far as weight ratings and i love the way it casts . Do i go with 735 or 736 ?
  6. Brokeju, your right on the money. The specs on the 684 are much closer to the specs on the rod i'm currently using (st croix triumph 6'6'' mh) and i would not want to go down in power. Do you know if there is much differance in weight and feel between the 684 and 704 ? I have a 705 on the way for my 1/2 oz and up jigs and will be using braid but think i'm going to go with 15lb big game for my texas rig rod. will be casting 3/16 - 3/8 oz.
  7. Hey RW what application are you using your 683c for ? I have been looking at that rod for my texas rigs in moderate to heavy weeds. how's the sensitivity and weight compared to your other rods? I'm planning on matching it up with 51mg .
  8. just ordered dobyns 705c and can't wait to try it . going to pitch 1/2 oz and up jigs around pads, laydowns and heavy slop. this is my first high end rod and looking forward to landing some hawgs. ;D
  9. positive discharge ,radio active , or if it's a yellow boat atomic banana . ;D
  10. daiwa exceler and for a little more $$ the tierra imo. 8-)
  11. i have both the exceler and the tierra and love them both. as far as smoothnes i don't notice any real difference. the tierra has a thicker bail wire and feels a little nicer but they are both excellent reels. for the money you can't go wrong with the exceler imo.
  12. i fished 10lb invisx on a daiwa exceler 2000 all of last summer without any problems . used mostly tube jigs with 1/8 to 1/4 oz. or weightless worms. 8-)
  13. Last summer i fished a exceler 2000 with 8 lb test with tube jigs and trick sticks. i think that this reel is an absolute bargain . it is super smooth when retreiving line . you can't go wrong with this one. 8-)
