  1. I passed after he couldn't tell me the exact problem :-/. My search continues!!! 1 quick question, if i get say a 14' jon boat would a trolling motor be enough power to get me around at a considerable speed?
  2. x2
  3. Uh oh.... It sounds like you put fishing before her and yall's anniversary, not good. You messed up by mentioning anniversary and fishing in the same conversation. Im no doctor Phil but maybe she feels like you just want to get through the anniversary so you can hurry and go fishing. just my thoughts, good luck.
  4. I have never really complained much about gas prices because it wont change anything but, yesterday i couldn't take it anymore. I put 60$ in my truck and got barely a half of a tank. On a good week 45$ will get me to work and back home so i threw in an extra 15 because i was going to one of my buddies house. I pull back in my driveway when i got home and check how many miles i have left before i need to fill up on my digital thing in my truck and il be a sonofa......im gonna have to put more gas in just to make it to work Thursday and Friday. Im scared to fill up because last time i did was about a month ago and it cost me 85$. I sure now it would be more like 100$...... :'(
  5. Sounds like you got yourself a deal, good luck with your new equipment.
  6. He spelled it stater thats why im not sure. I found it on craigslist and am going to look at it tomorrow. He misspelled a few other words so thats why im not sure if he meant to say starter or stator :-/. I will call him in the morning and get more details, thanks guys.
  7. I have been looking for a boat for a while now and i think i finally found one. My only problem is the guy that is selling it says that "the engine needs a new stater for the fire to the plugs". What in the heck does that mean? and am i looking at a lot of money to fix the problem? Thanks for the help.
  8. Good to have you back on US soil. Good luck fishing.

    EYE TEST

ROFL. I honestly counted 6, i highly doubt im a genius though.
  11. X2. Buy what you need now and keep it in your wallet. You will forget its there until you end up back at BassPro. Then its like the ultimate celebration, you find a 50$ gift card and you get 50$ worth of tackle 8-).
  12. I am the exact same way.Il get up and open up all my tackle n rods n reels and just mess with them for about 30 minutes or so and then im good. I do this about every 2 days. If i walk past a rod i always pick it up and make a few air casts for fun also. I agree with what Ronnie said, whats good for YOU is what you can afford and what helps you reach your goal of catching fish. Dont buy something because someone else has it, buy it because you want it.

    New guy.

    Welcome!
  14. No, that post was about the "new Citica". This is the "new Curado" .
  15. If you catch fish with it then you catch fish with it. We buy more expensive rods because they are made with higher grade materials which means more sensitivity, more power and more durability. Don't go buy a 300$ dollar rod because you see KVD fishing with. Go buy a rod that you feel comfortable with and a rod that helps you reach your ultimate goal of catching fish. Whats right for one person may not be right for the next. If someone laughs at you because of your fishing equipment dont pay them any attention, more than likely they are all about showing off how expensive of a rod they have, not catching fish.
  16. I bought a 7' M/XF Compre 2 weeks ago and so far i absolutely love it. Its well worth the price IMO. If you decide to buy it you will not be disappointed i promise.
  17. I have a Shimano Crucial and its priced at 149.99$, i am very happy with it.
  18. I have owned both and liked both but my vote goes to the Sahara. As for a rod under 50 i dont have much suggestions but if you want to add another 10$ to that you can get a Shimano Clarus.
  19. Everytime i see a "new member topic" i click it and look for this post, it cracks me up everytime. WELCOME to the boards my fellow Texan, what part does thou hail from?
  20. My brother and 2 of his buddies decided to try every beer sold at sams club( grocery store). They ended up trying 20 something different kinds and out of all of them they said Fat Tire was the nastiest thing they had ever drank.
  21. Traditionally people use spinning gear for lighter baits because its easier to cast and you dont lose distance like you would if you were using a baitcaster. Not only a spinning reel but a lighter spinning rod and lighter line, i dont think your going to have an easy time casting a weightless worm using 12# line and a MH rod. If your looking for suggestions then i think a Medium power Fast action spinning rod would suit your needs perfectly.
  22. X2. The only reason i guess id rather go alone is because of all my friends only 1 likes fishing and even then hes not as into as i am. He expects to catch a fish on the first cast and doesnt make an effort to work the bait/lure properly. I suggest things to him and he listens but he never puts it to use. So when were out its more of a hanging out type deal just shootin the poo and having a good time.I like to go by myself because i set my own times and dont have to worry about if the other person is discouraged or not having fun and wants to leave. This way i can focus more on my techniques and become a better fisherman.
  23. Rods have improved alot in 20 years, i would go with a new one. It would be worth it IMO.
  24. Weren't you one of those Revo guys too? I bought a REVO S and a Citica. I loved my Citica so much that I sold the REVO S after fishing with it once and bought two more Citicas. They rock. 8-) Yes i was. Don't get me wrong i still think Revos are good reels i just like the Citica better, alot better.
