  1. If your looking in the sub 100$ range i suggest the Citica 100%
  2. I usually just tell the bait how good it looks and just to build its self esteem up i will say "if i were a fish i would eat you right now". Thats when im rigging them up, i don't go to my tackle boxes and pick a lure to talk to, im not crazy.
  3. I had an Abu Garcia Cardinal 503 ALB and i liked it alot. I love the extra thick bail on it. For 49.99$ you can get a Shimano Sahara on sale which is an excellent deal IMO. Either way i think you will be happy.
  4. If you go here http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0030802119430a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=crucial&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=crucial&noImage=0 You can see what applications the rods work best with. For a topwater rod i would suggest a M/M OR MH/M in 6'6'' or 7. For an all around rod i think a 6'6'' or 7' MH/F or XF rod would be perfect. The CRC-X610MH is what i use for spinner/buzzbaits. Take a look at the link i provided and just check the "uses", it will help you decide.
  5. I bought the 3/8 Black/Red with a red hook. I wont be able to make it back out until next weekend but i will definitely be going to by some more before then. Not only is it a good lure but its fun to throw and all you do is cast and retrieve, way too easy 8-).
  6. Just wanted to give some more good feedback on the Cavitron Buzzbait. I bought one last night from Dick's to see what all the hype was about, im glad i did. First impression was very good, the action and sound it gave off was unlike any other Buzzbait I've seen and it really is "The slowest Buzzbait". I hit the lake right before sun up around 5:45 and made my first cast around 6:05, by 6:15 i had already missed 2 fish! The first hit was the hardest i have ever experienced, it was so quite and all i was hearing were ducks and birds and i get the lure about 5-7 ft in front of me and BAM! It scared the crap out of me so i set the hook and jerked it right out ofhis mouth. Same thing happened 2 more times and by the fourth time I guess i was ready for it and i got a good hookset and landed the little guy in my avatar. I think im going to buy some trailer hooks next time so i don't miss as many. If you haven't tried the Cavitron Buzzbait i suggest you don't wait any longer.
  7. I use a Shimano Crucial CRC-X610MH for my Spinner/Buzzbaits.
  8. What baits do you plan on using with these rods? I use the CRC-70MH for Jigging and i use the CRC-X610MH for all of my T-Rigs and Buzz/Spinnerbaits.
  9. I feel bad for anyone who has never been to a Texas Roadhouse Restaurant and had the Fried Catfish. INCREDIBLE!
  10. x3. What kind of camera do you have, Micro? I have a Kodak EasySharez700 4.0 mega pixels.
  11. Perfect! Il be at the lake tomorrow directly across the street from basspro ;D.
  12. Swamp Donkey LOL
  13. I found this in an old tackle box in the shed and i believe it belonged to my grandpa. There was nothing in it but some catfish bait that made me dry heave when i opened it, old line, some barrel swivels and this lure. I was curious to know a little more about it since i think it may be pretty old, can anyone help me out here?
  14. Suuuuuure :.
  15. Lately i haven't been able to get out there so when i cant fish, this is my fishing. Reading articles over and getting it crammed into my brain so when i do get out there i can put it to use. Reading up on everything so i can have maximum bass knowledge.
  16. Congratulations! Man, how did you go 2 months without anyone from Ford letting you know that your patience was for nothing? Oh well at least you got a badass new truck. I wanna see some pics!
  17. ! Lord help me, i cant wait to spend all of my money! I honestly cant remember the last time i was this excited about something ! ;D
  18. Holy crap.
  19. I have to wonder just how much extra $$ these municipalities are seeing. A city about 40 miles away installed these cameras last year. If memory serves, the city only sees about 30% of the fine. 30%? You would think if the city is the one running the cameras and issuing the tickets that they would see alot more than 30%. I dont doubt what your saying is true but only 30%.....
  20. You cant go wrong either way i dont think. I dont have an Avid nor have i ever fished with one but i do own a 7' MH/F Crucial and I'm definitely buying some more. The Crucial felt lighter than the Avid when i played with them both at BPS.
  21. I think it would be best if you started out a little slower but thats just my opinion. I would suggest reading some of the articles on the site to get started .
  22. Welcome to the forums and welcome to TEXAS! What part of Dallas are you in? im in the DFW area as well. I think your best bet would be to look at the top navigation bar on this page and click "fishing articles", read as many as you can. i would suggest starting with the 'For beginning anglers" article. Good luck.
  23. I was wondering why i hadn't been seeing any 60 lbs bass pics recently .Good luck with the truck situation, hope all goes well.
  24. I didn't hear him say anything about a ST Croix Avid, but i did hear him ask about a BPS rod or a Shimano Crucial :. I would definitely definitely go with the crucial, its a very nice rod at a good price.
