  1. Dicks is the only place i have found them other than online.
  2. Heading out tomorrow to the beach with the family for a week and man I cant wait! I have 2 little ones so we havent had the opportunity to actually take a vacation. Now that my boy is going on 3 and my little girl just turned 1 last month we decided to go. They are very well behaved and cooperative so i think it should be a blast. I am excited to be able to take my kids on vacations like this since i never had the chance to when i was a kid. Makes me feel like im doing something right as a parent. We got a condo on the beach for a week and are meeting some of my wifes family down there since they live less than an hour from where were going. plan on surf fishing, having a few cold ones and doing a whole lot of nothing! Yall take it easy back in the real world, i will be back soon....
  3. I agree with everyones response. I would say you did pretty well though. Everything you purchased deffiniteley has a place in most bass anglers tackle box. I would recommend getting some senkos or yum dingers. Senkos are the original version stickbait and the yum dingers are a "knock off" i guess you could say. They both work IMO. The Yum dingers are a bit more affordable. Either one you get will catch fish, and plenty of them. "senkos" in general are fish catching machines. I would get a couple bags and some 3/0 offset ewg hooks. Texas rig them weightless. Fish can not resist them. They basically fish themselves. Cast it out, let it sink to the bottom and let it sit. Raise your rod tip up about 8 inches and then let it sink back down and pause for about 10 seconds. Very easy and very effective. Good luck!
  4. Spinnerbait for me. I rely on it WAY too much. I always do good until the sun is up and out and then when the bite slows down or stops i keep throwing it for some reason.
  5. I would suggest spinnerbaits through standing timber. Always produces for me. Also get some square bill crankbaits and throw around the rocks. Square bills and rocks are a KILLER combination. Good luck!
  6. I have on some rare occasions. Now trolling the dam, yes. If it is a nice day and we are just killing time we will troll the dam and drink a beer or 2. I have thrown some xd 7's and got a bite here or there but nothing quality. So i guess my answer would be fishing the dams= no. Trolling the dams=yes.
  7. Both are correct. Mornings or eveNings when the sun is low or on a cloudy day. If the sun is high and shining fish will see what it really is and deny it.
  8. Theyre awesome baits. One of my go to baits for flipping and pitching. Has a nice compact body so it slides through cover with ease. It has good action too. I like it better than the sweet beaver or wooley bug.
  9. What is your favorite bait for fishing reeds? Just discovered there is a huge spot of reeds in the north end of a new lake we started going to the last couple weeks and one of my buddies sent me a pic of a 7.2 and 2 5 lbs pigs he pulled out of them. He was pitching a lizard in and around the reeds. I plan on duplicating this but was curious as to what yalls favorite is for reeds?
  10. Can you blame him?
  11. All i can say is dont live above your means. My wife and I have started a new thing to help us do better with our money. Might sound weird to alot of people but it has helped us tremendously. For example: say i want to take a trip to BPS and get some tackle and plan on spending from 50-60 bucks. If i do not have double that amount, I will not go. If i do have that, i will match what i spent and put it in savings. Obviously this doesnt apply to necesseties. If i cannot double the amount that means we are a little low on cash for that week/month and therefore i will not cut us short for something that is not a must have. Again this for things to support our hobbies or just things we want but do not necessarily need. Our cash flow is different each month, sometimes by 700$ and sometimes by 12$. We both have set schedules but work extra hours depending on the work load for the week at our jobs. Im not sure how it is with you and yours. We planned a vacation about 8 months ago and will leave for it next thursday. We are going to South Padre with some family and getting a condo on the beach for a week. We made a budget and agreed if we could not double it to put in savings then we had no business going. we matched it in savings and all is well. I would suggest that you talk to your wife and try and get on the same page. If yall just got out of debt, got a new vehicle and already have a planned vacation it sounds like yall are money comfortable. Why risk that comfort? Just my opinion brutha. Good luck!
  12. Of you want to hear about someone eating a heart attack, one of my old buddies dad used to smear butter on a block of cheese and eat the whole block at once with a Budweiser. Made me sick just watching.
  13. Do NOT get an HTC. This phone was junk after about a week. Got another model, it was the same. DO get a samsung Galaxy. S2 or S3, i can promise you you wont be dissapointed. Very easy to use if your not used to a smart phone, nice size screen but not too big where its like a mini laptop. Cant say enough good things about the galaxy! Good luck with whatever you pick!
  14. I am watching Adam richmans best sandwhich in America. He is the Man vs Food guy. He is going around the nation comparing sandwiches and its killing me. I love a good sandwich, especially when its something other than a regular ham and cheese. Any of you Northeast guys eat at Pramenti bros or katzs deli? If i had time and money i would make a roadtrip of it just to try them! Do yall have a favorite sandwich, or one that you like to make at home yourself? After Sam's post about fried snickers and now watching this show i am craving something out of the ordinary!
  15. Do i need to freeze or atleast throw em in the fridge for a little while before frying them so they dont melt?
  16. Anytime i see schooling bass whether it be LM or sandies i throw a 1/2 oz super spot in chrome/black. I literally catch a fish a cast until the school has left the area and we cannot find them anymore. I have never not had a bite on this in a school of fish.
  17. If you didnt help him, you sure helped me! Great post.
  18. atomic knowledge bomb right there. I know what we will be doing Saturday! I'm gonna hit wall mart tonight and grab some fun size Snickers butterfingers and reeses. Y'all are geniuses.
  19. warped? Heck no. I laughed my ace off too. His growling had me rolling!
  20. Congratulations! I have yet to take my son fishing but i can imagine when he gets older it will be incredible.
  21. i have always had a thing for the chubby ones! Nice fish brutha!
  22. My thoughts exactly. It may beef up your bait causing you to have to reel faster to keep it abover water. Alot of the times the key to a successful buzzbait is being able to fish it slow and if you are burning it accross the water trying to keep it afloat you will not be in the strike zone very long. Just a thought! Good luck experimenting. I am curious to see some of the other guys thoughts on this...
  23. What is your favorite jig to flip into cover whether it be a few sticks in the water or something nasty? I am focusing on jig fishing this year especially before fall and winter. I want to feel like i know what im doing when the water gets cooler and the fish slow down. I have done OK with 3/8 oz football jig and rage craw trailer, but not as good as i would like. Im going to a new lake up the road sunday and there is some excellent cover. I have done well there with a rage craw, hawg and pit boss but i really want to toss a jig in their and see what happens! There is moderate- somewhat heavy cover and the water is about 8-10 ft deep. What do yall prefer in this situation?
  24. You are a many of many trades sir. Love the show!
