  1. His question is far from vague. He is looking for input and or your personal experiences with both lures. Spinnerbaits shine in low light/ staind water. Fish are attracted by the blades shine and vibration without being able to see what it is clearly. Swim jigs IMO are better in more clear water since it is more of a natural look without all of the wire and blades. They are also better at navigating through vegetation and heavier cover because there are no blades to get tangled up. I will fish a SB in more open and shallow water where I am throwing near targets and cover. If it is an overcast day in the fall I will throw a spinnerbait more than any other lure on the boat. I generally use a 1/4- 3/8 oz and dont fish them any deeper than 1-4 ft. Thats just how I fish them successfully. Some people slow roll them in 20 ft of water. I will throw a Swim Jig when I am actually casting into cover or into some weeds or stick ups because like I mentioned previously, it doesnt get hung up and I can swim it through much easier without having to pick off weeds and junk after every retrieve. The thing I like about swim jigs too is if i am just drifting along throwing near the bank and I roll up on a stump or dock, I can take the jig and flip it under and around that specific piece of cover and if nothing ise there go right back to swimming it. Cant really do that with a spinnerbait. This is just how I fish both baits. Not everyone uses their tools the same. Good luck! -JP
  2. BOOM!
  3. At exactly 100$ the PQ is unbeatable. Buy it, you won't regret it for a second.
  4. There is an article here I will link you to when I get home since I'm on my phone now. I think its called fishing like an idiot. Its a good article. Maybe someone can pull it for you before I can.
  5. Ninja fishing lol. Might have to give it a try at some of the golf courses around here. Nice fish! -JP
  6. 7" Rage tail anaconda is my general use worm. Usually T rigged with a 1/4 oz weight. The 10" Rage tail thumper is a hard to beat when fish are deep and I want a larger presentation. Other than those 2 I dont really fish many plastic worms anymore but I always have a pack of Senkos, trick worms and power worms for ponds. I fish those 3 weightless. Colors are simple, GP, Red Shad and baitfish color. Keep it simple! -JP
  7. We have fish fries a couple of times a year. We find schooling sandies and or crappie and load the boat full. We invite family and friends and make home made hush puppies and sides. Something about catching your own meal and preparing it for family and friends is exciting. I never keep Bass unless the fish accidentally dies. I see Bass fishing as a hobby and something I want to preserve. There are plenty of people that fish my lakes that will take home any and everything they catch as long as they can deep fry it so it doesnt interest me. I have absolutely no problem with anyone keeping fish as long as it is legal. That is a fishermans right and the laws are set in place for a reason. Again though, personally I dont see any reason to kill a fish that I spend thousands of dollars a year on trying to catch. -JP
  8. Kvd 1.5 in Tennessee Shad, red eye Shad in Tennessee Shad and white spinnerbait or swim jig. I keep a jig tied on but my moving baits are used 99% of the fall. weightless super flukes in pearl if I'm throwing soft plastics. That's about it.

  10. Never had a dad to take me and my mom was busy taking care of my brother who has CP. My buddy and I tried teaching ourselves by throwing a rattle trap with a bobber lol. I honestly caught 3 fish our first time out that way in about 3 ft of water. My son is almost to the age where he asks to go. He will never hear no from me.
  11. 6th grade english class. I remember the teachers wouldnt let us do anything accept sit on the floor until they knew more. Couldnt watch tv or anything. My mom came and picked me up not knowing what more wouldnt happen as time went on that day. I remember wondering if the entire country would be under attack. Last thing I remember was feeling speechless as I watched CNN for the next week with my mom. Then I remember wishing I was 18 so I could join the military and fight. It is amazing to me how much it still gets and how real the feelings are when i watch the video of the 2nd plane hitting. It is so vivid and fresh in my mind like the day it happened. I even watched "Loose change". It is the 9/11 conspiracy theory. Dont even get me started on that. Thank you to all who serve currently and have in the past. You are stronger men than me. The thought of being away from my son and daughter for more than 2 days makes me sad. I think it would hurt me too much not to be able to kiss my baby girl good night and hear her say Night Night dada. Although if it came down to it I would defend my country no matter the sacrifice.
  12. Football jigs= Netbait Paca Craw, Rage craw & Lobster. Swim Jigs= Zoom Super Chunk Jr, Rage Grub, Rage Baby Craw & Rage Menace. Flipping & Pitching Jigs= All of the previously mentioned and Havoc Pit boss chunk. I have & will use others but these get the nod 99.98% of the time.
  13. Jigs are good just about anytime. Happy bass live in grass so get something with some weight to it like a 1/2+ so you will be able to punch the jig through without problems. I would suggest an Alien head or a head with a "sleek" design to help slip through the grass. A football head for example would be a poor choice because it is large and bulky and wouldnt penetrate the grass as easily. Slip on a trailer of your choice and go to work. Presentations will vary depending on many factors. Just let the fish tell you. Try working with a twitch twitch pause and if you are not getting the results your looking for try swimming it right above the grass. Again, the fish WILL tell you what they like. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/jig-heads.html http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/jig-fishing.html http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/jigs.html These 3 videos alone told me everything I needed to get started fishing jigs. Once you get comfortable with the feel of a jig in grass, around rocks etc. you will develop your own way of fishing them. Favorite make and colors etc. But these 3 videos should point you in the right directions. Good luck! -JP
  14. If NSCB never existed, I would be using Strike King Swim Jigs. Lucky for me NSCB DOES exist!
  15. Which was a smart move....UNTIL
  16. Ok how much?......
  17. Nutria is a beaver like rodent. Ugly as hell.
  18. Nutria and ALOT of moccasins this spring right before it hit the hundreds.....1 Liger. Its pretty much my favorite animal.
  19. 4.8.....What did I win?
  20. will try this on Sunday. I think I will just bite a portion of the head off so it will be more compact like I'm looking for.
  21. my next child will be named twin tail menace lol. I use them almost exclusively with my larger swim jigs. Baby rage craws up to the lobsters are in the boat as well.
  22. When y'all throw a swim jig like a 1/4 oz size, what trailer do you use? I like the rage tail grubs but they are fairly large even on my 3/8 oz jigs. I am looking for something to match more evenly size wise with my small 1/4 oz jigs.
  23. Thats such a simple and complicated question at the same time lol. There are dozens and dozens to choose from. Are you looking more specifically for a soft plastic type bait? I have had alot of success recently with Jigs. If you like the Rage Craw you should give the Rage Tail Menace a try. I use them as a trailer for my flippin jigs mainly. The Rage Tail Anaconda (7") has produced well for me too. Squarebill cranks are great options for fall fishing which is right around the corner. I prefer the KVD 1.5 in chart black back and Tennessee Shad. Chartreuse and or white spinnerbaits are an other great choice for fall. One of my top producing lures is a Strike Kiing Red Eye Shad. Senkos always produce numbers for me just about all year long. I always have a bag just in case. Also, watch out for the bait monkey. Good luck!
  24. Im on the water about 10 out of 12 months. Once mid July gets here, I'm done. I will usually start back after the first cold front in Sept which is scheduled to hit early Saturday morning. I will be out with the rising sun Sunday morning!! Lows in the high 50's and a high under 90? I'm STOKED!!!!
  25. Me too!! Thats probably why they get caught. Holding your belt (which makes no sense to have on if your pants are below your ass) to run slows you down bigtime haha.
