  2. As much as I want a Shimano to match the rod, 6 oz is a no brainer for me because I’m looking for a very light setup. Thanks for the input!
  3. I can’t find the fury’s anywhere in store but I have read a lot of good things about them. I like to be hands on before I buy but I may not be able to the way it’s looking. Man I didn’t wanna day it and get laughed at but it’s REALLY tough for me to do that. I feel like Shimano rod has to have a Shimano reel. But strictly rod manufacturers can have any reel paired with it. I’ve always been that way. But it I have always loved Shimano and I’m really digging this tatula so I figured I might be able to live with it. When you say tatula, do you mean the tatula xt? Or just plain tatula? I’ve seen 2 different tatula rods and different price points.
  4. I would like some feedback or suggestions about some rods and reels. It’s been a while since I’ve bought anything new so I’m not sure what’s what anymore. I’m beyond ready to upgrade all of my stuff though. Bought a tatula ct 7.3:1 about a month ago and so far I love it. I have been searching for a rod to pair it with but can’t seem to pull the trigger on anything. I need a frog/ flipping rod so I’m looking for a 7’ and up heavy. I’ll be using braid of course. I’ve messed with the falcon buccoo 7’3 heavy and I like it a lot. Haven’t really found anything else in store that I like so far. Anyone have experience with this rod? also, I bought a 7’1 M Curado spinning rod today. Fell in love with it in store and couldn’t put it down. I need a reel to go with this rod. I’ll be using it for wacky rigged senkos, flukes etc. weightless presentations. 8lbs line. I’m wanting something lightweight if possible and I’m trying to stay under 150$. So far I’ve had my eye on the Fuego LT, Exceler lt, Shimano Sedona ( because I’ve had one for 12 years and it runs perfect to this day). Anyone have any input on these reels or some other suggestions? Thanks in advance guys.

    Exactly.
  6. I come from a long line of losers. My father being the king of all excuses. from pcp to meth to alcohol, he used them all at some point in his life. Alcohol being his main addiction. I feel it is hereditary. I feel I have addictive tendencies. Been trying to kick tobacco for years. Went from smoking to dipping. Although it is maybe a can every 2-3 weeks, I still consider it addicted. Alcohol not so much after seing my dad on it my whole life. I do enjoy it, but I have NO problem saying no. Only thing I have ever had a problem with is pills. Mainly hydocodone and lortab. The feeling they give me is literally euphoric. I am the happiest person in the world and nothing bothers me. I broke my ankle years ago and was prescribed 10-325 Hydrocodone. 30 pills total. I took those 30 plus 14 more of someone elses in less than 2 weeks. I realized once they were gone that I had developed a problem. Luckily, unlike alot of people, I was able to kick them no poblem. I got kidney stones about 3 months ago and was prescibed the same pills. I now have a wife, kids and a good job. I started in on them again and before I knew it I was almost out. My wife noticed and was very worried and mad. That being said, I NEVER missed a day of work, never acted out in a bad way towards anyone at all and didnt really change in any noticeable way. But I did realize that I was abusing them so I trashed the rest of them. I now know I can not take anything other than Extra strength tylenol etc. Because I dont trust myself.Havent touched one since and never will again. I do understand addiction though because like I said, the feeling is incredible. Euphoria is the only word that describes it.
  7. Im going to state my opinion and probably get flamed for it but I really dont care. I was that hard headed teen that did not care or listen to anyone. No matter how much you tell her your reasoning for your rules, reguardless of how right or wrong they may be, she will not listen. I honestly feel im right. She has already stated it and has went behind your back and ran away. She is past the point of just talking to. She will have to learn from her mistakes after she makes them to realize that you were in fact right and doing this for the right reasons. Like HiSalenity said, she is socially behind her peers. This puts SO much stress on her to see her friends going out with guys and talking about dating while she sits back and says shes not allowed because her parents dont appove. I am not saying what your doing is wrong, Im just telling you how it is standing in her shoes. There is not much difference in 15 and 18. Legally, yes. Realistically no. And to label a young man a sex offender when in reality he didnt "offend" anyone except you and your wife is IMO ridiculous. I dont feel like its a parents choice to choose to file charges on a guy when the daughter wanted to have sex just as much as the guy. That is ignorant. Not that they did, im speaking hypothetically. It seems threatening some sort of action is only making her rebel more. Maybe try asking her how she feels about the rules yall as parents have set, ask her what she would change if she could. Maybe yall can find some common ground. I would DEFINITELY talk with the guy. Let him know he needs to respect her, and yall as parents and your wishes. I would remind him that any sexual relations are illegal due to the age difference. Maybe the thought in his head will deter him? IDK. I say all of this because I was the kid that didnt listen to anyone and made alot of mistakes. No matter how many times my mother talked to me in many different ways, I still had to learn on my own. Luckily I didnt do anything life changing, but I did cause alot of hard times on my family. I respect them and love them for trying everyday. Listen to your daughter, really listen. I hope she comes around and realizes what shes doing is wrong. I hope the best for your family. Good luck brother.
  8. thought I was the only bama craw bandwaggoner. Ultimate color IMO!!!
  9. Rage trail anaconda. Always produces for me. 7” that is.
  10. Rage craw on a shakey head. Only lure I've caught bedding fish on. Then again, I don't bed fish often and that worked great at the time.
  11. You and me would get along just fine. Whiskey myers Jamey Johnson Eric church Waylon Jennings Cody canada
  12. Awesome!! Still looking for that bama craw!!!
  13. Can't wait brother. Il take 20 brush and 20 football, all in Bama craw
  14. Rage grub!
  15. Strike king Ranger shimano G loomis Seguar
  16. I always used zoom until I picked up some yum Houdini Shad at walmart for 1.50 a pack. Even at full price I will still buy them from now on. Might be a while though cause I still have roughly 15 packs of zoom super flukes. I like the different tail options. They are heavier than a zoom fluke, lighter than a caffein Shad. Just my preference.
  17. I throw any moving lure I have tied on as well. Never had a problem not catching in that situation. I have a res specific rod that always has one tied on. Usually have a fish on before the 2nd crank of the reel. I like lures you can cover water with quickly. Get it in there repeatedly at a fast pace!
  18. BAMA CRAW!!!!!!!!!!??????????
  19. That fish' eyes are dead locked on you lol. Great photo!
  20. x2. Top Notch guy.
  21. I use the anaconda with a small weight or no weight at all, the 7" version that is. The tail is larger and body smaller with the anaconda. The Recon is just a bigger worm with a bigger body that moves more water and IMO is more lifelike because it is softer than the anaconda. I fish the recon on heavier line with a bigger weight and when I want a bigger profile. Now if your talking the 10" Anaconda, I have no experience with that size. Hope this helps. Honestly, both will catch you fish. Maybe if you try both you will figure out which works best in what situation for you. Good luck!
  22. My son is as interested in fishing as a 3 y/o can be. He loves waking up on saturday mornings, laying on the couch with me and watching whatever fishing show I have on DVR. I have taken him fishing a few times right before he turned 3 and he was more interested in other things like chasing ducks etc. Well this morning a good buddy of mine and I took our boys to a pond by where I work. Its right off of 114 E before Dallas right in between 2 hotels. Odd place for a body of water containing fish, but it is almost a fish a cast. We were using 1/16th oz jig heads with single and double tail grubs in white. Planned on the old bobber and cricket because I know the Bluegills are bunched up at the end of this pond, but it was way too windy. Plus the grub worked out because my son is happier while doing something like reeling vs sitting still which no 3 y/o can do. all in all caught about 25 fish, none over 10", but it was a perfect day for both our boys. This was my sons FIRST cast, reel and successfully landed fish. The feeling I get picturing his face and excitement when he felt the tug is priceless. He even lipped them after I removed the hook and put them back in the water safely on his own. Today was one of the best days of my life. Being able to share the hobby that I love most with my son and watch him enjoy it just as much.....There is no words to explain how happy and proud I am as a father. Also happy to know that I have a spot where I can put him on fish just about whenever I want.
  23. Steve on Falcon. No brainer. Dwight for smallies. Fish Chris for those monster sunnies. Honestly though, I would fish with any of y'all.....well almost.
