  1. Nice WTG Mark!
  2. Nice one's Shane and great photo too
  3. X2, the brush jig pointed nose and stand up head will come through the grass easier than a football design and if the rock is sharp and/or jagged, there will be less hang-ups.
  4. Some of the important factors to consider (besides color) when tweaking a bite to the max is the bait profile or... length and width, short or long, type of action produced, speed of fall or retrieve etc. Being that the Lobster is a larger profile but the same basic shape as the Craw, the Lobster's fall would be slower on the same weight set up and the action and vibration would be more noticable from further away. There are times when one will out perform the other 2 to 1 or more. A good rule to start with is... bigger bait for stained water or low light conditions. The Craw will catch Big or Small if they see it or feel and find it. It's possibly better in clear, calm conditions. My opinion is that the Lobster gets EATEN by any hungry fish Large or small because it's more like the Full Meal Deal and the Bigguns especially like it. I feel that the hits on the Lobster are more noticable as well. Just wished we had more colors for them... Hope that helped
  5. Using rattles on slow subsurface presentations like jigs and/or soft plastics can often help at night or in low light conditions, dirty water, deeper water that is stained, in heavy grass and cover or while when fishing soft bottoms. I'm not a fan of using them in clean water, clear conditions and/or dragging rocks.
  6. WTG Jeff... looked like FUN!
  7. A jig n craw or T rigged Craw is often effective in the same waters although there are differences and the fish will normally show a preference as well. A T rig, different from a jig, can have a free sliding line weight or pegged on the line weight depending on the use or preference, As gripnrip mentioned above, between a jig (especially skirted w/weedguard) and a same weight T rigged/craw, pegged bullet weight sinker, the jig/craw will fall considerably slower due to the added bulk of skirt, guard, line tie direction etc., causing added water resistance. The Speed of fall is a key factor especially when flipping/pitching. Also, a cast/drag technique with a jig is sometimes better than T rig especially if you have a good standup head design like football jigs or the Siebert Outdoors Brush jig or Moaner Predator jig. Another difference in any given craw design whether rigged on a jig or as a T rig, the profile or bulk with the skirted jig presentation is increased making it easier to notice from further away as well as the skirt motion can add a bit more movement or confusion which somtimes increases bites. Often, a craw as a jig trailer will last longer than when used as a T rig set up, and a jig requires a touch more finessing through the brush and trees than a T rig to avoid hang up's. Another possible advantage of a jig n craw set up, is an anglers ability to quickly change and tweak colors with the huge variety of contrasting color options between their Jig and Craw colors... Sometimes it's THE TICKET The fish will most often show their preference on whether the jig or T rigged craw (with color, speed of fall etc. being the same) is most effective at any given time, so IMO cking is a good idea.
  8. WTG Speed, those are a couple of Good ones for sure!
  9. rc06, for brim or baitfish pattern vertical and for craw pattern horizontal. Both will catch fish but in a nice bite they'll normally show a preference especially swimming in shallow conditions. Normally in shallow conditions, a predator is more likely to be attracted and attacking from the side... so the side profile becomes more important to attempt to match a bait they're most interested in at that time. A Vertical or horizontal tail profile and action will be translated as Bait fish or Craw easier.
  10. The Eeliminator is another trailer presentation I use on larger profile jigs and also when a longer profile is needed. This isn't just for swimming presentations, it works well as a flipping/pitching or ledge jumping set-up. I remove approx 3/4" from the head of the Eeliminator and thread it up the hook with the tail pointing upward toward the hook point. IMO, it's the style and amount of tail WHIP that helps trigger the strike.
  11. WTG on your new PB and looks around 4 to me too... Keep it up
  12. Congrats on your new PB and stay after'em
  13. Yes BeckieC, there are many things that I don't and can't do! And being that I am of the older generation, I've had a little more time to do a few more things BTW, I like to play with my GrandKids too jnatale3, sorry I didn't take the time to weigh her
  14. Hope this helps... Or this... And this is the way I swim the TwinTail Menace...
  15. Yep Musky Jitterbugs are still on the menu and rattling jigs with Big high action trailers, big worms with Tungsten and clacker rings or beads for more noise, Rage Shad for buzzing surface trash, Big Spinnerbaits with thumping blades like #6 Colorado, bladed jigs with big trailers. There are others but these are majors IMO
  16. Very Nice WTG!
  17. Drummer Boy, ♪♫ Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum ♪♫ Nice one Mike... What did you catch it on?

  20. I think it will be a worthwhile adventure for you A-jay... Have FUN and Good Luck!
  21. Darren, these Tx fish eat alot and most all year long... kinda like ME! Mark, small ones chew too and get the same hookset as their Mom's, but they don't make the Plus Sized Calender AK-NJ, Superman is really Luckyman that lives in Texas! Mike, not shorts this time, PANTS! My Shorts were wet from an untimely dip in the lake... while on me, lol. Arv and lmbFisherman, I have a MELON Head... wouldn't fit! Shane, here in Tx. as long as there's water in the trees, there's a flippin Bite Thanks Joe and hookset on 3, yes the added rubber tip to the rod handle does improve the balance especially on these longer models. Dwight, I also own Dry cleaning buisnesses believe it or not, I got tired of paying people to mess up my clothes. Maybe I'm too PICKY Powerduster, her light color was from water being a bit murky due to the wind blowing across flats on either side on the creek channel.
  22. Dang... My knees are shakin
  23. Oh Now... that's a SWEET Gal there WTG Speed!
  24. WTG, Those are NICE ones for sure and IMO, Bigger Baits are often Better at night because the fish can locate them more easily.
