  1. Early May sounds good, if the river is not high and flowing mud.
  2. There can be a few big fish caught in April and May, but the best fishing to me is always June thru October. It's real easy to hire a guide (if you have the cash), but I can take any of you on the same exact float trip at no cost to you ever. Come on spring...
  3. Last year, it was mid-May before the fishing got decent enough to call it good fishing at the least. This year... the water is even colder.
  4. Hey Retired... Let's do that float trip this spring, just let me know when to be there. Weekday's are best for me. The New river is pretty good fishing all over, but the fish seem to run larger above Claytor lake. Have rig.. will float.
  5. I love the New River fishing... if anyone wants to do a float trip this spring or summer, just let me know. It won't cost you a dime...
  6. If you want to catch smallies in Tn.... I know where to catch plenty. Send me a message for a free trip.
  7. I have a two-man cataraft... if anyone wants to float the New River on a Tuesday or Saturday for smallmouth bass, send me a message. I'm not a guide, but I do catch fish... and the trip is FREE.
  8. NOTE: Always looking for guys to fish with on the New River... mainly in VA, but will do NC and WV trips too. I have a nice two-man cataraft with an empty seat at times. The best fishing day for me is a Tuesday when the crowds are at work, but I can do weekend trip's sometimes too. If anyone wants a FREE float trip on the New River... send me a message. Will you catch fish? I've never been skunked on the mighty New River. Good fishing
  9. Someone looking for me??? Hey... let's go smallie fishing!
  10. It's more than worth the drive up to the New River... good fishing and fine float trips, if you don't know where to go just send me a message and we will show you where to catch some nice smallies... and it's all free.
  11. FANTASTIC report... Let's go!
  12. The next best thing to do is join the Alabama River Fishing board at another site.com
  13. I fish in NC, VA and WV... anyone is welcome to join me.
  14. Phishin Fillip: Send me a PM when you are able to fish, and we will get a trip set up. Fall fishing is great too! JCrzy4Bass: I just don't fish that area of the New River at this time. How about a float trip much closer to you on the Shenandoah river? Good fishing
  15. Hey guys... I've been fishing for 50-years, and fish the New River every chance I get, mostly along the NC/VA line. I sure get tired of going alone... if anyone wants to catch some smallies... just send me a message. You will need a canoe, kayak or pontoon boat (or you can rent one from a campground)... but the camping and fishing trip is absolutely free.

  17. Our next trip will be next Tuesday... anyone free to fish? ;D
  18. I fish the New River in NC and VA, and catch (and release) plenty of smallies. Join me on a float trip and I will show you where I fish. Thanks
  19. 1st post here, but definately not new to fishing (49 years). ;D Not sure where to post this message, but it is only about smallmouth fishing so here goes: Looking for guys that love smallie fishing as much as I do on the New River (NC & VA). I never come home without catching fish, so get in touch if you want to float the river and do some serious fishing. I am not a guide, I only fish for the enjoyment of being outdoors, and I practice catch-and-release always. I do have an extra Outcast pontoon rig if you need a river ride. Thanks
