  1. We liked it also and plan to go back. I just need to move there actually! ;D
  2. Thanks for the offer on the map and the tip on Google Earth. For some reason, I never thought about using the program for fishing. The Jennings Randolph tailwaters does offer some great trout fishing doesn't it. They stock those big trout there allot throughout the year. The trout fishing used to be my focus until my friend got me back into the lake fishing for bass. I would hit the trout and then start float fishing the rivers for smallmouth. The Jennings Randolph lake has allot of smallmouth in it and maybe we can hook up when you are up this way again. The lake has a WV and a MD boat launch on it. A person really has to watch those extreme differences in lake levels there because we have actually had to go to Mount Storm Lake and fish because of not being able to launch from the WV side on Jennings Randolph. We have never launched from the MD side, which could be an option if their ramp extends into the water more. They recently ran a test for a few days where they released 200 million gallons a day to see how it effected the levels downstream. It is another beautiful lake though when it is at normal pool levels. Bud
  3. Thanks...And Good Luck On Your Fishing!
  4. Thanks for the Welcome. I talked to a guy at a sports bar in Weston that I believe was named The PC. He said that the lake had never been that low...Is that right? I fish a lake here near where I live called Jennings Randolph that get's hit hard for water to feed the D.C. area, and it is real low also. You all sure do have allot of water near you, and you only live fifteen minutes from Stonewall Jackson...WOW that must be nice. We put in at the Resort/Park the first day and Vandalia Bay the next. We liked Vandalia Bay the most so far but realize that we didn't even hardly scratch the surface of what the lake has to offer. Thanks for the offer and I'll take you up on the PM for the hot spots the next time I get that way. By the way, you don't have a link or tell me a place where I can get a good map of the lake do you? The marina at the Resort/Park was closed and I have not had much success at finding one as of yet. Good Luck on the fishing today and look forward to the pic's. Bud
  5. Hi Everybody...My first post on this excellent site. I see a lot of information here and look forward to catching up on the tips. I'm drying out after returning last night from a two day trip to Stonewall Jackson Lake in WV. jimzee79 I noticed that you had it listed on your posts and thought that I drop you a line to let you in on something that you already know. Stonewall Jackson is one beautiful lake! This was my first trip and we caught a bunch of small bass even with the rainy weather. We were hoping to tie into a big 'ole bass...maybe next time. Everytime I get to that part of the country to either hunt or fish, I don't want to leave. Maybe I won't one of these times! Bud
