  1. I think that wil all change this weekend!!! Partly cloudy skies and its going to be in the high 70's. Those Bass will be out for sure chasing food! I'm not sure where I'll be fishing, Lake Joy or Juliet....hmmm
  2. Eakins all the way! 3 jigs for a little over $5.00 and they are really good jigs.
  3. I'm so comfortable with r/hand retrieve on my baitcaster, I don't think I could go left?
  4. I have 2 favorites and they both produced BIG bass this fall. 1. Eakins 5/16 Blue/Black w/ZOOM Black & Blue ultravibe chunk - caught a 6 pounder around a fallen tree. 2. Eakins 5/16 Brown/Black w/ZOOM Green Pumpkin/blue ultravibe chunk - caught a 9 pounder between some tree stumps. I love Eakin jigs because you get 3 in a pack for a little over $5.00! Heck, I'll use any jig as long as its a dark color of some sort.
  5. Good question! My spinning reels are left hand retrieve and my baitcasters are all right hand.
  6. I've tried using Lipless baits for awhile and never had any luck untill I purchased this XCalibu Xr50 in RAYBURN RED. So far i have only caught one bass with it but it worked. I'm still trying to figure out what colors to use in certain waters. I fish in a small lake that is stained most of the time and the rayburn red worked. I plan buying another one in Gold/Black for those overcast days. They are a bit pricey but worth it.
  7. good info!
  8. I love watching Lunkervile! Mike if you ever read this, you are the MAN!!! Keep up the hard work and thanks for making a great fishing show!!! If your ever in GA again hit me up with an email, I'll go fishing with ya any day any time!
  9. Everytime I'm in BPS or Academy I usually spend an 2 hours in the fishing section. Lets just say I don't take my wife and kids with me anymore LOL I just buy the baits that work for me and let my friends buy new the new stuff. I save $$$ that way.
  10. I tried using Gulp many of times but never caught a thing. So I did what most people do, I threw it away. Zoom baits is where its at. Power baits work good too.
  11. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
  12. I fish on Robins AFB, they have 3 small lakes and the lake that produced that fish is called Duck Lake. Its a small lake and it holds some really good bass. A buddy of mine caught a 10 pounder and carries the pic in his wallet LOL.
  13. Phone camra + and low light = bad shot. I'll remember to bring a digital cam next time. I didn't have a scale so I could be a little off about the wheight none the less it was still a huge fish by far my biggest this year.
  14. nice fish ;D
  15. Say AWE!!! My jig is in there somewhere LOL.
  16. That bass really did a number on my thumb, its even worse on the other side. It kept jerkn around while I trying to get my jig back.
  17. The pics aren't great only because I was using a camra on my phone, thats all I had on me.
  18. I used a Eakins Jig in brown and a zoom ultra vibe in green pumpkin. Its been killer for me and this is my first time fishing in the fall. To be honest I've been only bass fish'n for about 2 years now. I had caught an 8 pounder this summer with a culprit worm in brown color. Now that was a fight! It took me around 10 mins. to get him to the bank. I had some kids around me taking pictures next the fish. They said they never seen a bass fish that big LOL. Thats was a great moment. I wish my wife felt the same way, she just rolled her eyes when I showed her the picture LOL.
  19. I'll and get pic up tonight when i get home from work. I wish I had a pic of me in the muddy bank catching it with my hands.
  20. It was 11 p.m. and weather was about 50 degrees. I was 40 mins. into my fishing, targeting tree stumps and drops offs. I was throwing a brown jig with a zoom ultra vibe trailer in green pumpkin. Hop, hop, and then a dink! I quickly stoped hopping the jig trying too feel the tap tap. I waited for about a sec and then "tap tap" (but not very hard taps) I reeled in the slack and slamed that rod back! As I was reeling the bass in I thought to myself that it was small because there was hardly any fight, I was wrong! Just as I was pulling it shore, not more than 2 feet from me that fish jumped out of the water and quickly took off. I realized then I had a big one. After about 5 mins of fighting I finally got it to the bank. I quickly shined my light on it just see how big it was and it was BIG! Just as I started to reach down the bass gave a couple more jerks and SNAP my line broke. !@#$@$#@#!!! but the bass was still laying there on and it was stuck in the dead grass, not even a foot from me. So without thinking I quickly walked into the muddy bank and grab that fish with my two hands. I will say it was the biggest fish I have caught so far, at leat 9 lbs. I will post a pic ASAP. After I put her back in the water I realized I was bleeding. She really did a number on my lower thumb with those teeth, ouch! P.s. 14 lbs test is not a strong as I thought.
  21. Trying using these trailers Zoom® Soft Plastic Trailers - Ultravibe Chunk on your jig. I caught 3 good size bass ( at least 2 lbs each)yesterday in less than an hour. I used a different jig but It was the trailer that got them biting. I used watermelon seed in stained water, 1-2 feet deep. Give it a try!
  22. just got done checking out the website, cool video on the evolution jig. I'm tempted to buy one Hmmm... just have to figure out a way to sneek it past my wife :-/
  23. I couldn't explain it better myself
  24. The Captain, Not sure if you know this already, if you decide to start fishing the jig remember to use a heavier line 14-20 lb test depending on the weight of the jig. Also, rod length is also important. I recommend at least a 7- 7 1/2 ft rod M-MH action. IMO the longer the pole the quicker the hook setting.
