Flipp'n and pitch'n takes practice and the right reel/rod setup. When I wasn't fishing I would practive my flip'n and pitch'n in my back yard. I took some dixie cups and filled them with play sand and used them for target. Give this a try and I promise you your technique will improve.

After reading your story, I started having flash backs of all the good bass I could've caught if only I used stronger line, re-tied after i caught a good bass, set my drag right, reeled in the slack, and the list goes on LOL! I feel your pain but these are all lessons learned.

There are tons of ways to fish a fluke. IMO i like to use a fluke like a sammy. I have had good success doing this but it all depends on the mood of the fish. I say experiment with the techniques and let the fish tell you what they want.

Wanna read something funny... I went back to that little lake 2 days ago with my Rat L Trap and on the second cast my lure breaks off my line. It got about 30 ft of air and land about 40 yards away from me LOL. Whats even worse was I could see my lure the rest of my time fishing, just "floating" there. I was so ticked off it threw me off my game. I ended up getting skunked that day.

I've had that happen to me and this what I did. I change my rod to 6'6 M action and my line to 10 lb mono.

Finesse Jigs and Finesse Worms (trick worms). Also, fish sloooooooow!

I found away to tame the monkey, or should I say my wife found a way LOL. She buys me gift cards, so far its been working. Oh, and she never goes with me anymore to BPS or Academy...loooooooong story.

this has happened to me a few times when I order online espically during the holiday seasons. Sometimes I would recieve 2 of the same items and sometimes I would get something else. So, I'd call the company and tell them situation and each time this happened they told me to keep the item and they would send me what I originally purchased. My guess for this situation would probably be the same just because its the holidays but don't hold me to that.
