  1. I have an older bass raider that is still in good shape other than the seats. Have any of y'all mounted a foot controlled tm on one of these type boats? Some pics would be nice. Thanks guys
  2. I was in the same sitiuation you are. i bought a 2 man without seats. Well it had seats but they were made from angle iron They were very heavy. I had some dowel rods that fit into the slots and run a 2x8 treated board accross and screwed them to the dowels and then put a swivel pedistal on top and now have a seat. It was cheap and works well.
  3. Thanks everyone for your input. I will probably go with a bps microlight as a few suggested or a cheap berkley. For the reel I still am undecided. Something by shimano or pflueger. I have never owned anything made by pflueger so I need to try a few out in the stores. I will re-post when I pick something out. Thanks again everyone.
  4. I am in the market for a new Ultralight setup for crappie and bluegill. I am not looking to spend an arm and a leg for it. My dad and I have started fishing more for the smaller fish here lately. Right now I have a cheap rod and an old daiwa thats probably 15-20 yrs old that my grandfather gave me. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance
  5. Congrats on the new boat. My dad has a pelican rhino and we have fished out of it for about 5 years now. Not a single complaint so far. It is great for small shallow lakes. I have just been given a boat just like yours. Mine is a 99 i believe, its a light color like a bluish white. I hope to get a trolling motor and battery this week and get it out on the water. I think you will like yours very well.
  6. I have a pelican raider. I got it for free from a friend. It had a small leak that I have now fixed. There is a piece of plywood on the inside between the top and bottom hull that has been soaked causing it to be extremely heavy now and I am guessing a little weak. The top and bottom hull seem to be riveted together with some type of epoxy between. My question is can I drill out the rivets and pry the pieces apart, replace the wood, re-epoxy and re-rivet it back together. Thanks in advance Chris
  7. I have an older 15ft jon that is in need of a paint job. I want it the color of the tracker jons. What paint can I use to get this color and it not just chip and fall right off. Also whats the best way to prep it.
  8. First off I have just purchased a 15x54 semi-v jon boat. I am needing a motor. My father in law has a new briggs and stratton 5hp outboard. Would this be plenty for me to get around small to medium lakes and watersheds?
