  1. How do you explain all of the healthy lakes that have no vegetation?
  2. How did today go A5Blaster? Any reports from others recently? Is there grass left in Toledo right now, and what types?
  3. I'm moving there over the summer for a job. Anyone know if there are any lakes around I can catch some bass in? I may have my bass boat too if there are any that have a launch. Ill be doing alot of trout fishing, but wouldn't mind catching some smallies too. I will be in Montrose, Co but I can travel to a lake. Let me know, and any pointers would be great! Thanks.
  4. No, it's not the boat in the avatar. The boat i'm talking about is a 17' Skeeter with a 90 Hp on it. And I have "easrs" to plug onto my boat and run it at home, but the motor started and ran fine for a good while, I wouldn't have known it was going to do this at the house.
  5. That might be it... I'm not sure how though. I was thinking maybe the fuel filter is picking up debri or something and getting clogged. Either way, anyone give me suggestions on how to do things... How to get rid of the gas, or clean or replace the fuel filter, etc?...
  6. I have a 90 Hp Nissan, and I took my boat out this morning. The last time i took it out was 3 or 4 weeks ago. I noticed it was harder to get started this morning than it has been, ever since I've had it. (I'm bringing this up because it may be related to what happened later) It took me a while, but It started and I went to a couple of different spots. Then, as I was running across the lake, the engine sounded like it started cutting out, or losing power, and just died. I checked a few things out, started it again, it seemed fine, put it in gear and started driving across the lake again. After a while, the same thing happened. And then it started doing it sooner and sooner. I got a tow to shore, and my battery was dead from trying to start so much, so I got a jump and it did the same thing when I tried to make it back to the ramp. I thought it may be something to do with the fuel filter or hoses, getting clogged or dirty. Or something happeneing to where it just burns up the gas in the engine, then is not getting more to it??? I need some help and suggestions. I hope it's nothing more or too serious...
  7. Has anyone been fishing on Lake Somerville in Texas lately? I have never been there before, and am going to fish it soon. I need some help on where to start. What to look for, where to go, what to fish, etc... All information is helpful!
  8. 1957 Lonestar Commander that my dad bought 14 years ago for the small lake we live on... I restored it 3 summers ago, but sadly, I sold it to fund my first Fiberglass bass boat. :'( Before: After:
  9. What do you beach on? What about sand/small gravel? And is your keel beat up at all?
  10. Just wondering if this is a BIG no no with a fiberglass boat... or what?
  11. Special fuse in some truck models for trailer running lights. Replace.
  12. By buying new ones. :
  13. I've seen that on tv... they've pulled up some HUGE catfish... i would never want my whole arm in a catfish that big Those crazies stick their hands into any and every hole they find underwater to catch them too. Under sunken roads, beaver dams, you name it. That's also why many of them have been bitten by snakes, turtles, and of course big cats...some have gotten stuck and drowned... Read a story about an old man who stuck his arm elbow deep into a giant cats mouth, and the cats teeth gripped his skin, literally ripping all the skin off of his arm as it pulled away. :-/
  14. Trying suggested baits will usually catch you some fish. BUT.. Use what YOU have proven to work, and don't let anyone else tell you any different. If you try something that someone suggests, and it works, and you want to use it, then use that. If you tried something different and found that IT worked and you liked it, then use it. The people who are one step ahead, who try something different, something other than the same thing THOUSANDS of anglers are using, will alot of times catch the most, biggest, and even win tournaments.
  15. Awesomly said, Sam.
