  1. If you want and can spend that kind of money, knock yourself out. There is only 1 reason I don't do it. I know I'm going to loose at least 1 crankbait every time I go fishing. If I don't loose them in the brushpiles then I break them in half bouncing them off the bridge pilings or docks. Knowing that I only paid a few bucks for them lets me throw them right into the middle of the heavy crap.
  2. It's going to be 40 in the morning. I should probably find a jacket and maybe some shoes tonight. ;D
  3. Don't listen to him. Sometimes he falls out of the boat regardless of the length of his rod. I fish two setups. 7-6 MH with 65 lb braid for the really heavy stuff and 7 MH with 30 lb braid for longer casts in the thinner stuff.
  4. I saw a few small males on the beds this weekend, but that was it.
  5. I can't wait for "THE SEARCH FOR THE ENGLISH SPEAKING CAB DRIVER" episode.
  6. Gambler also has a Florida rig Goop weight with or without a rattle. You have to use a line threader(comes with the weights) to get it on but you can adjust the weight to anywhere on the line you want and it stays in place.
  7. it does sound complicated, but I could help help you clean up the language if this is something you think you could use.
  8. 1. Probably not necessary unless you expect to have more than 75 boats. 75th place would put you at 50 pts plus your weight if you caught fish. (show up points is 50) 2. Either round it or keep the decimal places. Imagine the excitement if the title is won by .36 points. If you keep the decimal then you almost completely rule out the chance of a tie. 3. Yes. Use only the best 6 scores. This allows everyone to (have a life) miss a few tourneys and still have a shot.
  9. How about this one. Its a mix of the ABA system and a club system. Say you expect to average 30 boats per event. 200 pt base subtract 2 pts x #of boats under the average. This is your event max pts. (the more competition the more pt reward) I would add a weight based bonus. This would add value for heavy weights with penalizing anyone to heavily for not fishing the heavy weight tourneys (spawn). I would also consider dropping one or two events and using the top 6 or 7 highest scores in considering the top prize. This allows someone to miss and event for whatever reason (life) and still have a shot at the big prize. example: Jan tourney has 25 boats. 5 boats below your expected avg. 1st place had 21 lbs score is 190 pts plus 21 = 211pts 2nd place had 18 lbs score is 188 pts plus 18 = 206 pts 3rd place had 12 lbs score is 186 pts plus 12 = 198 pts ect ect ect anyone not weighing fish is credited with 50 pts just for participating. I have been in a strictly points trail where I qualified for a regional that I don't think I deserved to. And a strictly weight club where I missed the spawn tourneys and had no chance to finish near the top even though I fished the same number of tourneys as others. I have fished in 4 different tournament trails that don't really care what you think of the rules. This is what I would like see if I fished in yours and had input.
  10. I caught them last weekend on a crankbait outside of deep grass, on a frog in the morning, and pitching a fluke into the holes in the kissimmee grass during the day. Nothing big and nothing consistent. We had about 20 fish over the 3 days. The most fun came from the ride a 7.5 lb cat fish gave me after inhaling my crankbait.
  11. English only please (it's not written anywhere, we just thought you'd be able to figure that one out on your own) That's a bit unrealistic don't you think
  12. wrapping his first guide We put his initials and the year on it with modeling paint. finishing he added a little sparkle to the wraps the wait for it to dry is killing him
  13. Nic with bags of pieces. reaming his grips finished grips and reel seat We took a break and went to Lake Alfred for a few hours of fishing.
  14. I gave my nephew a gift certificate for a custom built rod for christmas. I ordered the materials and they are finally all here. He called me today to ask if we could build it this weekend. He is so excited and can't wait to get started. He will be here at 9 am and pictures will be coming of the whole build.
  15. I know they are the cheap ones, but I like the bomber and bandit cranks. There is something about the rattle in the 7a and 6a that the fish in Fl just love. I use firetiger in stained water and the silver flash or tennesee shad in clear water.
  16. It was stocked with Bluegill, shell cracker, speckled perch (crappie) largemouth, sunshine bass and even redfish.
  17. I don't think that is entirely accurate. I think this year will be a repeat AL east championship. You guys did sign Rocco. I hope he does well.

  22. The irony of this is that I was making fun of my own team about getting older and not accepting it.
