  1. Find pads in 3-5' of water if you can. There are some fish bedding but I think most are in the post spawn. What type water do you fish? What lake?

  6. I probably should sign myself up.
  7. I have been rigging them texas on a 5-0 superline EWG with a 3/16 bullet. I like the green pumpkin and dirty sanchez and dip the tails in JJ's Chart. to get them to look like blue gill. 2 weeks ago warmer and I caught about 20 in 3 hours with them. I caught 5 this weekend with them. They seem to be a great spring bait. We will see how they do the rest of the year.
  8. Same as bilgerat. I also found several z-rust boxes the same length and width of the 3700 but deeper. One is 3" deep with folding pages for cranks and one is 2" deep with folding pages for traps. No more tangled treble hooks.
  9. I fish frogs all year round. Now, in Florida, the blue gill are up shallow and a buzz frog imitates bait fish as good as any bait.
  10. I have read quite a few posts lately that have indicated that having a "large" bass boats mean that you can't get shallow. For those of you that have that opinion, let's set the record straight, you are wrong. Or at least mostly wrong. I have owned boats for over 30 years. From a 10' monarch, to a 17' aluminum Triton to a 21' Stratos that I own now. Yesterday I put the Stratos in my favorite lake that happens to be down 6 feet, a lot for Fl, and with my brother in law and nephew we were able to fish in less that 16" of water. I measured it because it was crystal clear and looked like it was less than that. My last john boat drew about 10" and the Triton drew about 14". So for giving up 2" of draft I can have plenty of storage, cooler, 2 live wells, comfortable seats, a stable fishing platform and added safety in rough water. That is a trade off I am willing to make.
  11. Spray the carpeted bunks with a spray silicone. Then you dunk the trailer and pull back up to the sweet spot. The silicone and water don't mix very well so you get a bearing effect on the bunks. Slick as owl stuff. I can winch my 201 with no problem. Most of the lakes around here are so low that's the only way I can get loaded.
  12. I have a '92 Stratos 201 Pro with an '02 225 FICTH.
  13. My question too. Shallow flatts with a hard bottom (rocks), slightly protected, close to deep water, baitfish nearby. Sounds like a spawning pattern to me. Now the trick is to keep good notes. Write down everything you see. Weather, water temp, water depths, moon phase, description of what you see on the depth finder. This will be valuable information for the years to come. This pattern will most likely change in the next month or so. Then you will need to discover your next pattern. Most likely in deeper water near these spawning locations.

  15. I know what you mean, Avid. I always have a buzz frog of some type tied on and probably throw them 70% of the time. This is my favorite time of year. Throw a frog in the pads and wait for the violent strikes to start.
  16. I have had one hit the boat before, but he was about 6 lbs lighter.

  18. OK now let's add largest lead at half time and the most points scored in the first half of a final game to the list of records the Tar Heel dynasty holds.
  19. buzz frog - either Gitem Toad, Zoom Horny Toad, or Gambler. Toads are responsible for over half the keeper sized fish I catch.
  20. Tampa will repeat as AL east champs again this year. Our pitching is better, defense is the same and the offense will be better.
  21. A buzz frog is by far my favorite and I always have one tied on. I do have spooks, jrs, devils horse and pop-r's that I fish certain times of the year and in certain lakes.
  22. FD.

    Vertigo

I always thought you were a little off balance but I thought it was a mental thing. ;D Glad to see that you are ok and still kicking. You might even consider a life jacket fishing from shore at least until you have this under control. FD
  23. North Carolina's 1,983 victories rank second in NCAA history behind Kentucky. The Tar Heels' 101 NCAA tournament wins are the most all-time, as are their 18 Final Four appearances and 13 No. 1 seeds, while their four championships rank fourth behind UCLA, Kentucky and Indiana. (todays bloomberg.com) Not a bad history if you ask me.
  24. I think some of the anglers are just as good but the show production is not even close to the Elites. Even though I try, I can't watch it either.
