  1. As far as baits go this is what I have tied on to start most tournaments this time of year. I almost always find something from this menu they want to eat., Carolina Rig with a 10" ribbon tail in June bug Buzz Frog - gambler cane toad or a rage toad Swim bait - skinny dipper or Big EZ Rattle Trap - gold/orange belly or firetiger Flippin stick with a MegaBug, Ugly otter, Super Speed craw all in Black/Blue Boyah swim jig with trailer 6" vibe worm texas rig black/blue Spinner Bait
  2. The first week of March is leading to a full moon. Good news. Watch the 10 day weather forecast and look for the day before a cold front moves in or several days of 70's highs after a cold front. I'm fishing a tourney on Kissimmee on Feb 26th so I will have good info the week before you get here. Send me a PM and I will try to put you on some fish. FD
  3. If it's not a tournament I stay home too. If I have to fish then all I need is a flippin stick. Punching holes in thick mats is almost always your best bet in a cold front.
  4. I have it on my Galaxy android and use it all the time. Mostly on my downtime at work to learn more about the lakes I fish. It is worth more than the $10 to me.
  5. It could be a problem on your tow vehicle. I would hook it up to another vehicle if possible. If that checks out then it sounds a short or a ground wire that has most of the strands either broken or a loose connection.
  6. My partner thinks he should get "hazard duty pay". I have hit him with dozens of bullet weights and even several dinks. If it does not feel exactly like it did the last time you thought about it, SET THE HOOK. For most of my fish over 5 lbs, I never felt a "bite". Either the line twitched, started moving, or I just lost contact with the bait.
  7. The sad news is he had to pay for it. The happy news - like most single women around camp mack, she had no teeth.
  8. Can anyone actually answer the OP's question? I have thought about aiming my TM transducer to the side but have never tried it. In theory it should work, just the interpretation would be a challenge to master.
  9. Ya might want to check the weather. They are not going on the beds this weekend. Wed morning is the time to slay them, then you might as well play checkers for the rest of the week.
  10. Ok, I stay at Camp Mack 3-4 times a year in either the cabins or the campground. I fish with 80 other boats once a month and most of them stay over the weekend and I don't know of anyone who has lost anything. There have been several breakins at the motel during major tournaments in the last 10 years but I would imagine that happens anywhere you pack 200+ boats full expensive gear in a 50 ac property. There is a 24 hr walmart within 20 min and every kind of food you could imagine. There is also a snack bar on the property, the camp mack store, which has necessities, and a new tackle shop.
  11. I'm on my second pair of Wiley X Jakes. The first pair broke after about a year of wearing them everyday, all day long. I called Wiley and to find out how to get them fixed and they sent me a new pair for $7 in shipping. I work outside and wear them anytime the sun is up and they are the most comfortable and have the best optical quality I have ever seen.
  12. 4 ft gator on a spinnerbait, 18" gator on a frog, and a minnow on a rattle trap.
  13. They were Christmas presents and the baby is only 3 months old, Today she finally masters running without falling down, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIbGk_whrGg&feature=channel_video_title
  14. Man, I have got to come up there and do some smallie fishin with yall. Those are pigs!
  15. I don't think Toho is worth the run. Just my opinion. Cypress is great when the water is running but most of my best areas get beat up pretty bad with a north east wind. Hatch also is a great running water bite but it is also better on a west wind, at least for me. All that being said, the north end of Kissimmee is hard to beat during the spawn. You will also be more protected from a likely northeast wind. It is also the least congested with hydrilla. Specific information is only good for about a week or a cold front, whichever comes first. Send me a PM closer to your arrival date and I will put you on fish. I fish a tournament the last weekend of every month and I will be out practicing about the time you get here and will have good info for Kissimmee. I will send you a pm with guide info.
  16. What I don't understand is they are currently holding Kissimmee at least 6 ft above the river. I have never seen it this high in January.
  17. Toho is out if you want to stay on the water in a decent place. Campmack.com is closest place to Toho. A 25 min ride by water to the south end of toho. grapehammock.com is at the south end of Kissimmee and has nice places to stay. wgriverranch.com is south of S-65 on the Kissimmee River and about a 5 min ride to the south end of Lake Kissimmee and has by far the nicest cabins and is the most family friendly. There are several other places on the chain but I have not stayed there and have heard many horror stories. Let me know where you decide to stay and I can hook you up with places to target and local guides if you want.
  18. His partner has not been active on the forums since BEFORE I sent out the names and has not opened the PM I sent him. BassFishinMagician has been taken care of so let's just drop it.
  19. Dock talk. I share and get information from a select few people. The information I get is always truthful from these guys. The last three BR guys that asked for info have all found their biggest fish on my spots and the last 2 cashed checks. I would say that is pretty good "dock talk".
  20. That was not happening today. Taylor and I got blanked on the south end of Kissimmee. We did however, lock down to the river and have an awesome bacon cheeseburger from River Ranch!
  21. He's been taken care of by our BR family.
  22. Would ya care to share that spot with a brother?
  23. I could not watch it. After watching the FSU/ND game which was mostly defense, trying to watch 2 tea bag defenses bored me to death.
  24. We have 5 cats (all rescued), 2 miniature donkeys, and a miniature horse. My favorite pet by far is the 22 lb maine coon cat named Leroy. He will eat anything, just like me.
  25. Exactly what I though when I read the question.
