  1. 1 yes 2 MH to heavy 3 Any craw type bait 4 HS 7.1.to 1 is what I use 5 I use 7'-6" to 7'-11" 6 Heavy enough to get through the top layer. I use 1/2 oz to 2 oz depending on how thick the crap is 7 always pegged 8 Up and down a few times then move it to the next spot 9 YES on braid. Either a buzz frog or a hollow body frog. On the above described setup. Also try a small swim bait or worm rigged on a screw lock weighted hook 1/4 oz.
  2. I throw the swimbait all year. The swim jig is most productive now during the blue gill spawn. I use a vibe worm (Bitters or Zoom) in blueberry for the tougher bite days.
  3. Well to start with we don't have 4 seasons. We have 2. Raining and Not Raining. You will need MH to H casting rods. High speed casting reels. Braid, 40 to 65 lb Some sort of swim bait - Naked Swimmer, skinny dipper, Big EZ 10 Inch worm in any color you like as long as it's junebug Spinner bait - White and Chartruse Top water buzz frog Boyah swim jig with trailer Punch rig with a craw type plastic 1 med rod with 15 lb mono to throw zara spook devils horse aruka shad spro little john These with a few tweaks will get you through the whole year.
  4. We were headed to Cypress when we stopped and decided to try this spot. I would guess they were in the pads with a swim jig trying to look like a blue gill. I'm just glad it took an 8 pounder to beat us. We almost had it. Jamie check out the club web site. I just published some of Nicoles photos for the background.
  5. We had just headed south east out of Muscle Shoals on 157 in Alabama. It was very weird. We saw no rain and the hail only lasted about a mile. But it was heavy.
  6. tstone and I had 19.52 lbs in a local tournament. Flippin and Froggin in shallow water was the ticket. We did not get up to Toho, as we found fish in Hatch on the way north. Everyone else seems to be fishing the shad spawn bite. Deeper outside lines either flipppin or spinner baits. We missed another six and a four. The big fish were biting on Saturday.
  7. How about this video leaving Pickwick?
  8. Here are two more combo's The one in my left hand is mine. The 6.5 in my right hand is tstone's. He is going to participate as well.
  9. How many rounds have you put through it. I had a P-85 that would not shoot cheap ammo until I had about 2000 rounds through it. The spring was just to strong from the factory. Put a box of better ammo through it after a good cleaning.
  10. Toho is the best lake I know of that is within an hour of Merritt island. I'm fishing Saturday so I will let you know what's working.
  11. I'm in. I think I heard Glenn say that with some "Big Companies" help, they can put a rod and reel in a child's hand for around 6 bucks. 5# is my number.
  12. Home safe and sound.
  13. Eufaula next year? Alapark.com/LakepointResort / Nicole and I stopped here on the way home and it was really nice... Actually we are still on the way home. We had a mechanical issue that I could not fix with hair spray and we are still in Gainesville fl waiting on the tow truck and my dad to get here. We will be home by midnight. Just one of those weeks. We had a great time meeting everyone and are looking forward to next year. Can't wait to see all of the pictures and video.
  14. We just spent another 2 1/2 hours with Big O. What an awesome dude. I'm still laughing/crying from the "Taco the cat" story. You cant pay enough money for this kind of stuff.
  15. Another 40 today and I was not using the drop shot/barbie rod. Good ole fashioned crank bait kind of day. Keri and I boated 15 in an hour on one hump just north of yellow creek.
  16. We have had three speakers in three nights and I have learned more in those three hours than I have in the last year. If you are not here, you are missing out!
  17. Yesterday Alpster and I went out in the morning. We boated around 25 lm, sm, and spots with the biggest being a 2-6 spotted bass. The high light was a frog bite we found in the back of a flooded pocket. Nothing big but lots of fun.
  18. According to the guide that spoke last night, we should be fishing shallow. 0 - 4 ft kind of shallow. I'm tying my toad back on this morning and going to throw it up in the trees. If that does not work then a tiny jig/small plastic.
  19. Tough day. 3 casts in I boat a 3 pounder and I'm thinking this is going to be an epic day. Not. Only one more in the boat all day.
  20. Welcome to the forum Alex. There are a couple of guys from your area. They should wander by soon and respond.
  21. Well we made it. We are in cabin 8. Checked in with Jeff and should start slaying them as the sun rises.
  22. We left Lakeland on schedule at 3 on the dot. About an hour north I feel and hear a BOOM under the hood. Still running just weak on power. I have blown the boost tube on the Banks turbo. An 11 mm deep socket, a can of hair spray and 20 min later we are north bound again. A couple stops and 8 hours later we are in Larenceville Ga. We got in about 2 am. In a few hours we will visit one of Nicole's friends and then headed to Pickwick.
  23. Thanks but it is big ramps only for sure. The combo is over 50 ft from front bumper to the prop.
