Old phosphate pits (50-60 years old) that have been turned into county parks. They have good big fish populations. Most of them don't get fished very hard because they require a different approach to catch fish. If you know how to fish them, they can be a lot of fun.

Anchor and a good rope that is 3 times longer than the deepest water you plan to be in. This is an absolute safety necessity for any boat. Stranded but anchored in a storm is much better than stranded and being beat to death on the rocks.

Glenn, the brother in law caught a few Nicole and Dad only fished a couple of hours this morning but both managed a dipper fish. Overall we boated more than 40 fish.

You figured it out. It is mostly vegetation patterns. In Toho it is mostly hydrilla related. Sometimes in the matted stuff, sometimes in the sparse stuff in 8 ft of water. Sometimes it's pad, sometimes it's Kissimmee grass.

The Walk - is loaded with huge fish. It's just not as easy to catch them as it used to be. Before the hurricanes you could sit out in the hydrilla and catch them all day. Now it's more like the Kissimmee chain. Buggy whips and deep outside maidencane is your best bet this time of year. Right now it is very low and more difficult to fish. I have a tournament there in two weeks. I will let you know what I find.
