  1. Come on guys, at least give us some dates. My schedule is booked through Feb now and I need to know what week to block out before I sign anymore contracts.
  2. Ok, here is the official participant list so far. If your name is not on this list, then you did not send me a PM as instructed or I'm having a senior moment and forgot you. Either way you better send me another PM if you want to play. rockchalk06 deaknh03 Mr_Scrogg 00 Mod Fishing Cowgirl Siebert Jrob 78 BigMoneyGrip retiredbosn A-Jay slonezp bighead NorcalBassin HI Salenity bkohlman .ghoti. 3. Ron is the Man... Address: 380 S Lake Shore Way, Lake Alfred, FL 33850 Phone:(863) 956-4990
  4. Something I learned from Big O at the roadtrip this year. Rig in on a 3-0 Moaner Rage hook. You work it on top of submerged vegetation mostly. It will flutter down horizontally and sit on top without burying into the top of the mat like a t-rig does. Twitch it and hang on because they don't nibble on it.
  5. If you build it...they will come
  6. He told the story at dinner one night too. He won it in a poker game.
  7. Yea, we only have 30 to 40 bait shops in polk. And the largest Rod, reel, tackle and rod builder shop in the state.
  8. I stopped running the Pig trail on Kissimmee because of a near miss. I glad this turned out to only be fiberglass damage.
  9. If we are discussing the BEST baits then I have an opinion. There are only 5 you need to do well in central Fl and here is how I rig them. Bitters Naked Swimmer in ghost shad- Texas rig, 3/8 th oz tungsten pegged with a bobber stop on 40 lb power pro. 7-6 MH with HS reel. Bitters vibe in blue berry - t-rig 1/8 th oz tungsten pegged on 20 lb power pro. 7-11 Med with HS reel Baby paca craw - t-rig with 1/2 oz to 1.5 oz pegged on 65 lb PP. 7-9 Heavy HS reel. Rage Toad t rig with 1/8 oz tungsten pegged on 65 lb. 7-6 MH with HS reel. Rage Menace on a Rage rig on 65 lb PP. 7-6 MH with a HS reel I have probably 10 other setups on the boat but these five are always on the deck and catch the majority of my tourney fish. Tstone and I are on THE WALK this weekend with Brandon Bassmasters. Big fish pic's to follow.
  10. My grandmother was a professional blue grass musician. She taught me the guitar and banjo. I still play occasionally, mostly country, but it is with the Martin she left me in the will. And usually because I was thinking of her.
  11. Cheap ammo usually = click, click. Use a high quality round for self defense.
  12. that's awesome. I need to build one and I don't have tree rats
  13. I just ordered a pair of Fisch 580 Turk/green mirror. I have a pair of wileys that are getting beat up so I decided to try the costa's based completely on this thread.
  14. With our water temps still in the 80's and the air temp going into the 50's finally for a low, we will have days where the fog is so thick you can't see the trolling motor. That's always fun.
  15. Cold? It was friggin 90 degrees on Friday.
  16. I've been watching since the first one but have not played mostly because I don't get to fish that much anymore.
  17. I just stumbled across these this morning. I may buy one just to get on the little water I have to drive by now with the big boat. I actually miss the serenity of the little ponds. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/colorado-pontoon-boat-sage/130833.ip http://www.samsclub.com/sams/lifetime-10-tandem-fishing-kayak-w-paddles-backrests-camouflage/prod5710484.ip
  18. I'm in this month. I can't fish much this month but I'm fishing Walk in Water and Toho so chances of a big one is pretty high.
  19. Yep. You will want a bigger boat as you fish bigger water. I'm on my 3rd also. You will want a bigger boat eventually and you will probably not get your investment back if you just upgrade motors. The Procraft is a nice ride but the difference between 17.5' and 20' is huge.
  20. Welcome Aboard!
  21. Welcome Aboard! I fish from Harris to Istokpoga so if you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.
  22. For you crusty old timers (and you know who you are), it's that time of year again. For you newbies who don't know what this is, here is how it works. You announce to the world in this thread that you intend to play. Then you MUST PM me your name and address. We, Taylor and I, draw names to pair or group up players. You will receive a name and address from me via PM on or around Dec 1. You research that person, go buy a gift, and send it to them postmarked by Dec 10. Patiently wait by your mailbox to receive your gift (I sent your name and address to someone else who researched you, bought you a gift, and mailed it to you before Dec 10.) You can open it when you want but you must post pictures of the loot for all of us to see. Last Years Loot Thread http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/110073-fds-fishmas-official-loot-thread/?hl=%20xmas%20%20loot Here are the RULES, If you don't like them, to bad. You MUST be over 18 to play. You MUST have over 200 meaningful posts and be reasonably active on the forum. (I decide what is meaningful and reasonable) You MUST proclaim your intent to participate in this thread prior to Thanksgiving Day. You MUST send me a PM with your Name and Address prior to Thanksgiving Day. Minimum gift amount is $25. Maximum is up to you but don't expect to get more than $25. You may or may not get the name of the person sending your gift. You will get a return PM from me before Dec 1 with the name and address of the person you are buying for. You MUST send the gift prior to Dec 10. You may open the package when you get it or wait to Xmas. I will periodically post a list of official participants on this thread. It is up to you to check back after you send your PM to make sure you are on the list. A separate thread will be started to post pictures of the loot you received. Let the fun begin.
  23. The only one that ever made me nervous. He lives in the Stick Marsh and even in a 21 ft Stratos I let him have the spot. He was most likely just chasing the fish I was catching on every cast. We hit Lake Lowry in Yaks during the summer and never had a problem.
  24. Yep, but I could not fish for two minutes without having to pull the motor and clear the prop with the standard 3 blade power prop.
