  1. X2 They seem to come thru the heavy grass much better
  2. We had a good year in Hartridge. With the water so low it is the easiest to launch and with the new ramp and parking it is nice. This was Josh's PB just off the Hartridge ramp. plum/bl flake flappin tail
  3. I have a handheld garmin 76 and used it on another boat with a mounting bracket. And no you will not be able to see it very well when standing. In fact unless you are willing to pay for at least a 5 in screen then you will probably have trouble seeing anything from a standing position.
  4. like boca, I want my frog completely weedless. I use an #5 ewg hook with screw in keeper and never set the hook on sight. If I have a strike I kill it and wait for my line to move before I set the hook. I dont miss 1 out of 20.
  5. Storm makes some small swimbaits. I have bluegill and crappie, got them for fathers day and still have not tried them.
  6. I read that too and can't wait to try them.
  7. They do look great.
  8. warmer, what did u use to catch that hawg in lake Jesse?
  9. Let's see.... Today, December 14, it is 83 degrees...... I guess florida wins!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I had someone tell me about holyland on tuesday. Don't remember how to get there though. Ask Bocabasser, he has been there..
  11. I read all of them...but my favorite article is bassmasters " A day on the lake" if you subscribe to bass insider you can look up the past few years of issues online and read all of the past articles. I normally go back and read them again to help me work on patterns...
  12. It started like this then this then this and finally this....
  13. My goto bait in pressured water is a rapala J-11 in root beer (shiner) or silver (shad). No one uses minnow baits anymore and I have caught more fish on that one lure than anything else. Second choice would be a B/B chatterbait with a trailer.
  14. 5" junebug paddletail
  15. the sound my daughters rattle trap makes as she banks in off the motor cowling ;D
  16. Warmer, My 14 year old and I fish the Accent Marine team tourney out of camp mack. As far as the shade goes think tall trees on the western bank....you have seen it many times..near deep water
  17. Welcome, this is a great place.
  18. Another idea that my wife came up with. We like to go to Crooked Lake and stay at Hillcrest Lodge. They have a private boat ramp (no dealing with the congestion at Bob's), power on the dock for charging batteries, and we could make it a family/fishing outing kind of thing. The best thing about it is they are cheap. Not 5 star but better than a fish camp.
  19. My respect has climbed even higher for those guys!
  20. Another good lake is Johns Lake in Clermont. About 45 min from Zhills but worth the ride. The lake is fairly clear and unsually good fishing.
  21. Everything local is a low water right now. Winter have chain is way low. I can't get thru most of the canals. I take my kids over to saddle creek, in Lakeland a lot. Easy access and no crowds. Mostly trolling motor though. Deep water and hydrilla, this is a great place to catch fish and I got 2 over 5 lbs this year. Another good spot is Teneroc, it's a little bit of a hassle to check in and most of the lakes are TM only but they have some biiiiiiiiiggggggg fish in them. Later
  22. Warmer, Tourney season starts on the big K at the end of Jan. I will probably start prefishing around xmas. I had been having pretty good numbers, in the 2-3 lb range on a gambler cane toad, (lane toad or peppergrass) in 3-4 ft of water, sparse kissimmee grass, in the afternoon. Look for areas that the shade just hit. Also the mouth of canoe creek, in cypress, there is a huge patch of topped out hydrilla. Plow your way into it and run the frog across the top and let is drop into the holes. Lee
  23. Whatever you guys want to do. Let's get something together.
  24. OK, I hate this chain..... No. I really hate this chain.... Dec 8 out of Buzzard Beach... Weather...Absolutely beautiful 60-80 Water- upper 60's Wind- light from the NE Blue bird sky 34 boats only 23 with fish only 5 with a limit 9.97 lbs won.....9.97 lbs on the Harris Chain....where did the fish go? 6:30 take off 4 pm weigh....NOT A SINGLE BITE!
