  1. Again this is saying that the smoker has more importance than the non-smoker, that his "freedoms" are more important than the other person's. Why shouldn't the smoker have to go to a designated place to smoke? Why must the non-smoker leave?
  2. Where's the proof behind this statement? I'll ask this question again. Why is the smoker's "freedom" to smoke more important than the non-smoker's "freedom" to not be subjected to that smoke? Why should the smoker trump the non-smoker?
  3. The EPA actually classifies tobacco smoke as a Group A carcinogen. It is one of 15 in the group shared with the likes of asbestos, radon, benzene, etc. http://www.epa.gov/smokefree/healtheffects.html Phillip Morris' own (shockingly unpublished) research revealed just how bad it is. http://tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/cgi/content/abstract/14/6/396
  4. Sweet!!! Sign me up for some of that!!! You may not like it, but tobacco has been known to contain carcinogens since the 30's. Using tobacco (and even breathing in second hand smoke) greatly increases one's risk of developing various cancers. This is scientific fact. They aren't taking away any of the smoker's freedoms. They are protecting the non-smokers freedom from the smoker's smoke. Why is the smoker's "freedom" to smoke worth more than the non-smokers "freedom" not to be affected by tobacco smoke?
  5. They're not a very good option for removing all of the smoke though. Even if a bar installs ventilation fans those fans will not be able to remove the smoke from the air without it affecting people sitting around the smoker. Why should they have to suffer the side effects of someone else's smoke?
  6. It may not have affected you directly (yet), but it is a proven fact that being exposed to any type of smoke over a long period of time greatly increases one's chances for health problems later in life.
  7. I agree in principle, but it sure is nice to be able to go out to dinner or to a bar and not have to breathe in second hand smoke.
  8. If I'm fishing at night, I'll have one tied on. If I'm not, I won't.
  9. I catch nearly all of my crankbait fish by fishing them above or along weed lines. These fish come without the crank ever hitting anything.
  10. Jig Skirted with a trailer to be more precise. 8-)
  11. It is definately true that bodies of water can be overcrowded with fish. If this is the case with your body of water then the best way to fix it is to keep the small bass you catch. I don't know about the size of water that you're fishing (this presents a rather large varialbe in how many to harvest), but you'd be surprised as to how many fish you'd have to keep to make a difference. If you decide to do something about it don't mess with one's and two's. Whenever you go keep you're limit of small bass. You also won't destroy the population by practicing selective harvest. You'll mainly be helping it or not making any difference whatsoever. You won't hurt it.
  12. You should also add in line diameter. Different manufacturers call differing line diameters "10lb" test. Do you have that info for those you tested?
  13. Glenn, It looks like your last link isn't working anymore. Is there a different one that you recommend?
  14. My experience is the same. I have not found them to hang up in the rocky areas I fish anymore than any other jig that I've used. I bought a bunch of evo jigs when Dick's had them on clearence. I also like terminator's jigs and GMAN's jigs.
  15. Braid and zebra mussels, sharp rocks, etc do NOT mix well. Those cut through braid like a knife through butter. You'll get much better results with a leader when fishing braid around sharp objects. Line rating doesn't have much to do with it as the line gets cut and not snapped.
  16. That could probably still happen with today's graphite framed reels. The Shimano Curado is not one of those though. Here's some more info on the new Curado from Bantam1 (a shimano employee). http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1224097297/all
  17. From Matt's own site (www.mattlures.com):
  18. Could you also tell me why you call the curado a plastic reel when it is mainly constructed from aluminum, which is a metal?
  19. Why would it be important? What stress is the side plate under? I don't see any issue with non-metal side plates. The frame should be metal, but the side plates are just covers. So who cares about them?
  20. DT Flat 03 DT FAT 03 DT Fat 03 is big. It's a 1/2 oz and 2 1/2 inches long.
  21. Oh and to answer the original question DT's are awesome cranks for the price. I try and get them at Dick's on sale and can usually stock up for like $5 per crank. Love 'em. Plan on getting some Big M cranks, but the money situation has not been favorable for a while now. Having kids is EXPENSIVE!!! >
  22. My brother in law broke the bill on a DT. Instead of taking the weeds off with his hand he was slapping it on the water. I told him it would break, but he didn't believe me. About 20 minutes later he belived me as he had to tie on another lure.
  23. Very strange. Just called my BPS (Bolingbrook, IL) and asked them the same question. Their response was "No Problem. Just bring in the sheet and as long as it is the exact same item they'll match it." I've actually did this 3 times last year.
  24. Didn't take long for February's contract to fall through $40. Gas is also down to less than 89 cents a gallon! 8-)
  25. If you print out the listing from the web then they'll match the price. I've down this on my Extreme rods. Works great!!!
