  1. Leverage for what? It's a spinning rod and not typically designed for horsing fish out of heavy cover. Also, as Rolo said longer rods give the fish more leverage over you and not the other way around. I'd use a Med X-fast spinning rod for light jigs, soft plastics, etc.
  2. Definately true, but I still see no reason why the rod would have any impact of the action of a crankbait.
  3. How does the rod limit the action of a crankbait? There doesn't seem to be any logical reason why this would happen. To the original poster, I like the BPS crankin sticks. They're cheap and work well. Plus when you get them on sale you'll be way under your budget.
  4. People who lack the patience to fish slow either figure out a way to gain the needed patience or never become successful fishermen. It sounds to me like you're letting you're "lack of patience" be a crutch to not be able to fish slow. How do you do it? You just fish slow. Success is the best teacher that I've experienced.
  5. You're still wrong. You're second sentence is incorrect. I'm not really sure why you're trying to "teach" people who do this for a living when you're only in your first accounting class. If you purchase advertising services you expense them in the period that the services were performed, even if the business has ZERO revenue you still book the expense.
  6. This was mentioned in a previous thread and was all I needed to change.
  7. Why are we having an accounting discussion here? Seriously, it's lame. Oh and the above is wrong. If it were true then no company would ever experience a loss.
  8. Why does everyone care so much? If you weren't part of the first pass then Jr has had no effect on you. What does it matter if you get to see the tracking numbers? This entire thread reminds me of my wife's "issues" with her friends and who to invite to this funtion and who to invite to that one or what one girl said to the other one. Needless drama that gets compounded by the peanut gallery. And cart, this post isn't solely about your post. I just responded to the last one in the thread and wasn't trying to single anyone out.
  9. As others have said, program the DNR hotline in your cell phone and call them immediately.
  10. Hmm, maybe my next trip to memphis will be by car. What model kayak do you have?
  11. But hooking them is? 8-)
  12. The service is great. I just started smallie fishing in a small river by my house and wanted to buy some round ball jig heads for grubs and he went out and bought a new mold just to fill my order! Great jigs, great prices, great service!
  13. Be careful of the Legal Limit finesse and flipping jigs then. They use Mustad hooks just as Gman does.
  14. I agree. I think most people put entirely too much stock in the brand of jig they fish. Most jigs of the same type (football, finesse, widegap/flipping) are pretty much identical. They'll also typically be either using a Mustad or Gammie hook. The legal limit jigs that you linked look to have pretty much the same head as GMan's football jigs. The main difference is the hook brand and that the legal limit one looks like a wide gap. So, if you buy one brand of jig and the hook bends out, get upset and buy another brand of jig that uses the same brand of hook then how did you help yourself? Also, aren't you asking to hang up flipping heavy cover with a football head jig? What pound test mono were you using when you bent the hook? Did you have your drag tightened down all the way? In summation find a jig that has the hook you want and that doesn't cost a ton of money and you'll be happy. Jigs are made to be lost so I don't want to go broke fishing them.
  15. I did! I've used the Terminator jigs, Evolution jigs and a few others. Any new jigs I purchase now are gman's jigs. Same quality as the Terminator for a lower price. The Terminator's trailer keeper is nice, but not worth the $1.50 difference between them and gman's.
  16. They're made of higher quality materials (will last longer) and to tighter specifications (will feel more smooth and wear less).
  17. As others have said you actually have less leverage over a fish with a longer rod. As the rod gets longer the distance to the fulcrum point (right in front of your hands) increases which increases the force necessary to control the tip.
  18. Guess I'm old then. We had metal silverware.
  19. The problem with a sting operation is that these people never even set foot on US soil. They send email messages or post on message boards and wait for some sucker to send them money. They don't ever have to meet that person face to face and they never have to leave their home, which is typically in a different country that doesn't have the resources to monitor this type of crime.
  20. If you're talking about the Rapala DT series, they float and they'll rise pretty quickly.
  21. The knives that they give out in the cafeteria (do they still get knives) are bigger than this one. This is clearly not a weapon and should not be defined as one.
  22. These rules are ridiculous. They are all about the administrators not having the guts to investigate each situation and mete out the appropriate punishment. Instead they get to be cowards and say "It's the rules, I don't have any discretion." And how does that qualify as a weapon anyways?
  23. I have seen a dramatic change in people and community in just the last 15 years in my area. I guess everywhere is different, but to say that the world hasn't changed at all is kinda ridiculous. Well as evidenced above, that isn't what I said.
  24. Nope. The world hasn't changed all that much since I was a kid. The biggest difference is the speed of information and that we can get our information from anywhere. We hear about a lot of things happening that we wouldn't have a generation ago. I've got a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter.
