  1. Have to agree, TW is tops.
  2. Jeff Kreit - He's just flat out the man. Timmy Horton- Gotta have the biggest heart on tour.
  3. I like to throw lipless about 3 foot off of the weed bed edge. Close enough to be seen but loud enough to be heard from deep inside the weeds. I always throw them parallel to the weed edge. To thick to see through the weed bed so I hope that the sound will bring em out. I've only had luck with the stop and jerk method with the lipless.
  4. I think that man, however great he is, has smoked a little too much payote in his day.
  5. Mega Bass Carolina Lunker Sauce (Crawfish)
  6. They used to do free t shirts for orders over $50 and hoodies for $10 for the same level. They are also one of the the very few places that carry LARGE spools of Berkley Transition (2000 Yards I think)
  7. Black and Blue 1/2 oz jig with a BIG trailer.......Deep
  8. I can't get my espn360 live coverage to work either. when I click on the link It just recycles the same screen.
  9. I've got 5 and I sleep with them every night. I've used Stellas (great reels) and every Abu and Quantum imaginable. Nothing even comes close, IMO, to STEEZ in quality. Only complaint would be the physical size but I have small hands so I love them. A buddy I fish with, can't hold them...complains they are too small.
  10. I can't believe I'm saying this but....college should be priority number 1. Well girls, then college. OK...ok...girls...parties...but then college. Either way, the person willing to front the money I'm sure will understand and probably respect you more for it. It shows wisdom at a seemingly young age.
  11. Thanks for all the info. I am currently in a club in my area that is affiliated with BASS but doesn't send anyone regardless of finish to the "next level" tournament. I was looking for something that I could pay to be in and fish against that next level of anglers. Not that I think I'm that great but it's good to know the progression of things. I used to play competetive paintball and in the day I played you had to qualify to play on the "pro" circuit. Now you just pay the entree fee and declare you level even if it's pro. I didn't know if fishing had something that like or not. So basically what I'm understanding is that if I have the money and the boat I can enter the Federation circuit in my area, which would require some traveling but it sounds like anyone could run to walmart and grab a rod and reel and a bag of plastics and enter. You don't have to have any prior tournament wins to qualify for them, just the though that you can compete and the money to buy in. It obviously makes sense to be as good as you can and have some experience but technically you don't have to. The club I'm in now just required a current member to invite me. So i was curious.
  12. I actually took an entire tube the night before a local tournament and put a dab into each bag of plastics that use in local tournaments before going out. Then rolled the worms around the bag after getting all the air out of the bag. Worked wonders and didn't have to apply to each new worm. Personally I love it would strongly recommend it but getting that stuff off your fingers, after applying to a plastic, is pain in the a**. They should make a Mega Soap for removing Mega Strike.
  13. Lucky craft's Ghost Minnow has been money for me in clear water. I pruchased a few Sexy Shad seeing KVD throw them and haven't caught anything on them. I can't even manage to get them snagged on something. That super color doesn't work for me very well.
  14. I read a post about a guy heading to Cheasapeake bay to fish as a co-angler and was wondering how he got there. I fish in local clubs and have my days but would like to fish in a bit more serious tournament. I'm not talking the Elite Series or FLW but I know there are bigger more lucrative series in the area and know nothing about them. I don't even know the name or would Google them. You read all of this stuff about Professional Anglers starting off in the BFL or Federation as amateurs but I don't get it all. Is there a sign up that anyone can do? Are only certain people invited from sanctioned clubs? Is it invite only? Thanks for any information.
  15. Like most I grew up trying for easier caught fish. The Bass were always the more experienced fish. I went on my buddy's boat and threw Red Shad 5 inch ribbon tail texas rig, having no clue what I was doing. I got bit and it almost pulled the rod out of my hand and it was only a 2 lb large mouth. I was done....rods, reels, boats, and every free second I get is now dedicated to Bass fishing.
  16. I just dealt with Daiwa's Customer Service and warranty depart. I sent back every reel I own (which are all Daiwa) and had them clean and re-greese them all for me. They were great and actually only charged me for the ones over a year. Even for an elected procedure. I have no experience with their rods but Iwould imagaine they would stand behind their product.
  17. I will hook both the worm and the oring depending on my fishing style. When I hook the oring the worm falls with a slight "V" shape from teh tension the oring being hooked puts on it. I will use this when I am getting hits on the retrieve. I think (only my thoughts) that it resembles a craw fish or something weird due to the action it causes when jerking the bait in the retrieve. I'll normally fish this by letting it fall and jerking it back to the boat. When I hook the worm and oring both, it tends to hold the worm straight on the drop and creates a slow "falling leaf" drop. That works great for me just outside of bushes if I am trying to temp them to come out and check it out. With this method I will just hook and throw and when I hit the bottom I will retreive quickjly and throw it again. I will post picture once I get off work.
  18. parasite clips, they come weighted and weightless and in a bunch of different sizes
  19. Fishing with as many different people as I can. I've taken complete stragers on my boat with me and learned stuff. I guess that can be lumped into time on the water but everyone does something different so I feel it's the people not always the time. The possibilities are endless with an open mind.
  20. Spinning tackle with 8lb flourocarbon, an o-ring, and a Gamakatsu EWG weedless 2/0 hook, and weightless if the wind and current permit. The hook is rather small but they released 3/0, 4/0, 5/0, and 6/0 this year. They're just impossible to find.
  21. I have used, although very little, a lure made by a company called "5Live". They are referred to as 5 ALIVE. They are crawfish lures, very realistic looking, and the absolute softest lures I have ever felt. Anyone know where to get them? In the past I was given some from someone fishing in the boat with me but I would like to get my own and the person who gave them to me, I no longer have contact with.
  22. What type of attractants are you talking about? There are the submersable lights that attract fish (never tried them) and then there are little plastic fake trees to create a brush pile. In MD there are is a group of older men that fish a few clubs with that will go out and drop Christmas Trees in the water to creaet their own brush piles where no one else would know they are. It's completely illegal and no one has ever been caught but once they get a few in them they'll mention it but they would sooner cut off an arm then tell you where they are. The lakes I fish the most are reservoirs and the drinking water for Baltimore City so everything is very regulated but two of them are always vacant except for the anglers and boats. One has a fishing center that would see what you are doing. Long story short.....ask DNR in your area like previously stated.
  23. Bobby Lane Florida boy with the conditions dictating to his strength of shallow water pitching into heavy cover overflown creeks. Plus from what I hear, he's the coolest most down to earth guy on tour.
  24. I've got the itch too. And not that bad itch from college. My local lake doesn't open until March 1 though so I've got to hold out a bit longer. March 1 is a Sunday and I'll be there with bells on.
  25. There is a boat permits for Prettyboy and Liberty that you can get now with the lake opening March 1. Loch Raven has a seperate permit that goeson sale Aril 3 but the rent boats too. Libert is good, Prettyboy is tough and OK but Loch Raven is amazing and will rival any fishing hole in MD for LMB. I'll let you tag along with me if you want. I'm always looking for people to fish with. Or anyone for that matter.
