  1. Sometimes, althou none this year. How's the bite right now?
  2. The lake should be on fire now if it has cleared up any.
  3. ROFL powerman...when I saw your avatar after reading your post I nearly spewed pepsi.
  4. Oh jeez another Bill Dance thread. The man can fish...allright we have established that. Some people don't like him because all of his shows are on the same body of water, fishing the same places, catching what seems to be the same fish. Some people don't like him because of his orange hat. Me personally tho, I don't like him because he always uses a hand control trolling motor! ;D Please let's not all get bent out of shape, it's just another Bill Dance thread. We have been through this before! Don't panic!
  5. Not that many of us ;D most of us are from West TN. But there are some Central folks out there they just haven't replied yet.
  6. hey your new here aren't you? Welcome =)
  7. Yeh I fish them all. Am most familiar with Sardis, Enid, and Horseshoe tho. PM me if you have any questions about them.
  8. Not Sardis but I have fished Enid 3 times this past week, done decent first 2 days and nothing was hitting Sunday after the big rain, water very very muddy. Give it a week or two and it will clear up some, along will come good fishing.
  9. I thought Kentucky Bass were the same as Spotted bass :-/ They are.
  10. Your "typical" spot around here is not going to take on a football type size, he is going to be long and skinny. Now thats not to say that you don't have those that are just fat but generally in our neck of the woods the largemouth will have heavier stomaches, unless he was spawning. Any rate.....A spot could survive in a gravel pit, he wouldn't be happy and possibly wouldnt be able to spawn but he could survive. He is going to prefer current, clearer water, and deeper water than the largemouth. But once again, he will live whereever he has to, the Hatchie is full of them and it's neither clear or deep. I would put my money on Largemouth tho.
  11. I have some Costa's, they work awesome....but the only thing I have to compare them to are some old bill dance glasses as for the right color it depends on a few different conditions none of which I can tell you, but if you have a BPS catalog it can.
  12. I want to fish for some Carp and/or Buffalo. I know hardly anything about either species other than I can see them bathing in the sun sometimes. I know there are different species of carp, I don't know which species it is I am after, but they are all in oxbow lakes if that helps.
  13. where did you catch him skillet?
  14. I never have to step off into the water, then again I crawl over my vehicle like spider-man or something. It's also easy for me tho because I have a pickup....if you have an SUV, just open the backdoor and crawl on through =) You will look like an idiot but atleast be dry.
  15. uhhh yeh whats already been said. 50:1. If you needed more clarification =)
  16. Which side of TN are you going to? The state is a 12 hour drive long :-/
  17. Huh? Theres plenty of places to fish man, I don't really have the time to sit here and tell you a bunch of spot's but I can muster up this simple advice. Buy a map, check out some places you think may be worth fishing before you get out there. Another good idea is just to get out on the lake and see where other people are fishing, that gives you some good places to check out next time you visit the lake. Some regular hot-spot's are behind State Line Island (behind if your going with the current). The levee can produce al-ot of fish. Going towards the levee there will be a sign up on the hill that say's "Point Arrival" and thats a good place to fish also. You don't need a guide, you just need to get out and fish.
  18. Yes, haven't been there this year tho.
  19. Yeh I was with my Dad in his boat. But we left around 4. I saw you around 1ish and didn't notice you catching any. I pulled 2 small ones off of that levee point and about a 3 pounder from a deep bank. Dad caught 2 small ones on a crankbait.
  20. haha did you see me trying to take a picture of you without being too obvious in-case it wasn't you! My phone kept screaming "loss of service" "loss of service" finally I just threw it back into my tackle bag before I made a fool of myself.
  21. Cool. Well, good luck. Our bass club meeting is tomorrow and from what I've heard, alot of the guys are gonna vote Sardis or Horseshoe. We'll fish on Sunday, so I may run up to Gibson Co. on Sat. Did you have a tournament today? Nope. Changed the date to next Sunday at Sardis. Oughta be fun. Lake is supposed to rise 10 ft by Saturday and be at full summer pool. It's muddy as ever now and gonna get worse. Gonna be a long day. Went to Glenn Springs instead and whacked em there again for the 4th day this week. Been catching at least one 5 lb'er. on every trip out there this week. I saw you, I think...fishing the creek at the end of the levee to the right side of the big point where the tree's start? Then moving to the right even more past the little island?

  23. I saw the lake made, loved it for the first 2 or 3 year's, and now I can't stand it, so maybe you can change my mind. I just never care for the crystal clear water. I hear ya on the clear water. I make really long casts to keep from getting right on top of the fish due to the really clear water with flukes and senkos and try to cover alot of water. Actually, I catch 80% of my fish in 2-4 ft of water, year-round. Even in the dead of summer. I fish the thick grass and hardly ever leave it. That helps with the clear water situation because the grass is so thick. exactly how clear is the water? Extremely clear. Visibility down 10-15 feet sometimes.
  24. In my opinion, telling someone to get out on the lake and search for himself isn't really bad advice, it could be good advice. I think the problem may have came in how he asked for help. Nobody can look at a map, and just "find a honey hole". It all boil's down to different condition's, everyone here knows that. Maybe if it would have been worded "can someone help me find a place to start" then he wouldn't have gotten the reply he did. At any rate, good luck man, the best advice I can offer you is the same as many here have given, and that is to get out and try out the lake yourself, it's a small lake right only something like 300 acres? shouldn't be too hard to learn the lake.
  25. Was out there today for about 4 - 5 hour's in the afternoon and only caught one around 2lbs, on a Lipless crankbait on the grass flat at the end of the levee where the point comes out and a big row of tree's start. Wind was KICKING, had the TM in 24 volt the entire trip
