  1. If you want to compare the two, find a staffer in your area and borrow a couple of the Gen 2 Dobyns and see for yourself. If you'll pm me your city and state I'll see if we have anybody close enough to help. The Gen 2 Dobyns are not in the same class as the Gen 1, hence the higher price. While the Gen 1 Dobyns and the Powell's were similar in action and price, the Gen 2 eods are on a different level. Sorry about the side track, but wanted to correct the mis-information.
  2. More of your "untruths." We do not add "lead" to balance our rods and if you'll check the weights of both rods you'll find that they are not heavier, at least not enough to be noticable. Again I ask, What is your agenda?
  3. Like I said previously, our staff are hand picked for their promotional abilities, whether it's forums, trade shows or tournament weigh-ins. Your comment about "dozens on the texas fishing forum" is way off since there are less that 12 staffers in texas. Don't know what your agenda against us is, but maybe you would like to enlighten us? What is your rod of choice and are you "sponsored" by them or get a "deal" of any kind, or do you just pick a brand to badmouth when you get a chance?
  4. Thanks Kent! I've been a member for quite a while, just haven't posted a lot. I still check in pretty often to see what's up though.
  5. That seems funny to me, Natural, that you would say that. We have 1 dealer in Texas that has sold over $50,000 in rods at retail alone, and that doesn't count any of our other Texas dealers. Just because they have Dobyns in their signature doesn't mean the are on the prostaff but just supporting a rod they like or believe in. I am the prostaff director/coordinator for Dobyns Rods and I can assure you that we do not put just anyone on staff to sell rods, they have to meet certain qualifications to even be considered. Maybe you should meet up with one of them and try a rod out before making claims such as this on an open forum. This isn't the first such post that you've made. Thanks to the guys that have supported and commented on how well they like the rods! Andy Caldwell
