  1. Connecticut - beautiful from late spring to early fall (late April through mid-October), terrible for the rest of the year. Too much taxation. We have, I believe, the two largest free-standing casinos in the world, and the second biggest poker room (Foxwood's) in the country, behind the Commerce in L.A., CA. The girls, generally, are not much to look at. We have almost a foot of snow right now, and counting. The beaches are pretty budget. Bars close at 1:30 am, and you can't buy booze on Sundays or after 9 pm on any other days. The people just aren't very nice, at least compared to southerners. State record LMB just under 13, smallie just under 8. Movin' south within the next year or two.
  2. Hey guys, I just ordered an Okuma swimbait rod, MH 7'6" rated for 1/2 to 5 oz, planning on getting either a Curado 300 or a Calcutta B of some type for the reel. I'll be throwing Mattlures Woody's, 6" Hudds, and Mattlures soft swimbaits for the most part, and at this point, I'm planning on spooling up with 40 or 50 lb Power Pro. For those who use braid for swimbaiting, do you use a leader? If so, what pound test, how long, etc.? Do you think a leader is a good idea or does it matter? Thanks (I know there are many who are against braid with swimbaits, but I feel comfortable with braid and won't switch to flouro/mono unless I start losing fish and believe that the no-stretch factor is to blame.)

  4. Awesome fish and story Paul ;D I'm starting to get in the mood to bass fish. Some of my ponds are starting to open up slightly.
  5. He'll win. Can't wait to watch it. It seems like he has the mental power to will the ball in the hole when he needs to. Unbelievable.
  6. Any of you guys go fly fishing yesterday?
  7. Oh man, seeing those pictures just gave me a serious craving to go skiing. Nice pics BTW, a friend of mine spent a winter in Taos, and he said it was just unbelievable. It's definitely a place I'd like to go someday.
  8. Companies are always looked down upon when they outsource. How about: stop taxing the crap out of them so it's possible to turn a decent profit in this country?
  9. The gov't has done nothing to "deserve" that much money when they spend it as recklessly as they do, and engage in the corruption that they do. There's nothing we can do about it except start voting some fiscal conservatives in. :-/
  10. Wish I could have watched it :-/
  11. Or let them file for Chapter 11 so they can re-negotiate the union contracts and actually turn a profit :-? That's what should be done next time. There will be a next time.
  12. ;D Click-clack ;D I used to do boxers, but have recently fallen in love with boxer briefs.
  13. Obviously I'm not a basketball fan. My first thought was that this was gonna be about the morning trip to the toilet
  14. Snuff films. I saw the first two and probably won't be watching any of the others.
  15. I'm another one on the Mac boat. Got one in 2004 after my PC died from 2 years of use. Haven't had to take the Mac to the shop once, never had a single problem, and I'll never look back. Apple is simply one of the very best companies out there. All of their products are absolutely top-notch. Can't go wrong. Good luck
  16. What's not to like about Federer? He's (hopefully) about to tie Sampras for the most majors, and much like Sampras, he's a class act and a great role model. And by the way Tex, I agree that Federer may not be the greatest tennis player ever, but no one can say he's not one of the greats. It can be argued that he didn't have competition as tough as what Sampras dealt with, but no one can ever say for sure. I think it's kind of a cop-out argument. Federer is also past his prime age-wise for tennis. I really hope he gets a few more majors under his belt before he retires. I really doubt that Federer can beat Nadal though. Nadal has reached a whole new level with his game and I just can't see him losing any match right now. What do you guys think about Andy Murray? I really enjoyed watching him last year. He's one of the craftiest players I've seen.
  17. How do you glean that from the linked article? Oh, and IBTL... Sorry, misread it. So cutting to 5 days instead of 6.
  18. Even at the beginning of this mess, I thought we were invincible. Now I'm starting to have my doubts. All this money is coming from somewhere, and no one tells us. Probably from China (although I heard they're starting to back off of lending us so much money), and just printing money. I don't know about you guys, but when I hear that they're just printing more money, hence making my hard-earned money decrease in value, to give to ACORN and other corrupt firms and agencies, that makes me pretty freakin' angry. What do you guys think is the worst that could happen?
  19. Oh, not to mention all the corruption that's being uncovered. All at once it seems tons of corruption is being investigated, from politicians to ceo's to a CIA officer. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/Story?id=6750266&page=1 What's next?
  20. I just can't believe the situation this country is in, and I know it is the same with almost all other developed countries as well. Every day I read about more companies doing layoffs, more companies failing, more agencies and companies asking for bailouts. This is pretty scary. Now the post office wants to deliver mail only once a week instead of six days a week because they're so broke. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D960BK9O0&show_article=1 The only piece of positive financial news I've read is that McDonalds' net profits were up 80% in 2008. Makes sense when you think of the dollar menu. Then you have the "economic stimulus package". Nevermind the ridiculous sexual undertones, but I read through some of the 647 pages of the proposed bill, and it doesn't seem like it's aimed at economic stimulus at all. It seems like a handout, at the worst possible time, to agencies and companies that have nothing to do with the economy at all. Agencies like ACORN, for example. I read that $350M is to be allocated for STD prevention. I don't understand???? What's going on? Is Atlas going to shrug?
  21. Definitely deserving of the bouncies ;D
  22. Looks even more intense than Winchester, and that's saying a lot.
  23. Yo-Zuri UltraSoft #10 on Spinning Reel? No, especially not a 2500. If you do though, please take a video for our viewing pleasure ;D
  24. Nice post Micro. I also find it fascinating.
  25. I voted smallie. However, if you had specified that the stripped bass were females only, it would have been a tougher decision If I lived in S Florida, I'd probably have voted peacock bass.
