  1. Saw a website name across the back window of a pickup here in town sitting in front of a sporting goods store. Decided to check it out and found it to be a local fishing tournament website. It had a link posted for this website. Did not know so much bass fishing information existed, so I joined in September of 07. I enjoy reading the forums and posting some too. Hope to be as much of a help to BR future members to come as those here today have been a great help to me. Ive got alot to learn though.
  2. I ran into the same identifying problem with my 12ft jon. I was never able to positively identify it with the HIN given. The lady at the tag office run the HIN through NCIC {stolen vehicle database I guess it is} and it come back clean after a 24 hour wait. They then registered it. As far as the brand name and year model was concerned we just took our best guess and registered it as that. Not all tag offices are willing to do that. I had to travel to the next county to get mine done, but I had to have it registered to use it on public lakes. Im very appreciative they were willing to bend the rules a little, after all it was only a little jon boat. Good luck to ya.
  3. http://joox.net/cat/44/id/1782055 Im not into carp fishing but I thought this was a video all would appreciate. Kind of a documentary\movie about 50 minutes long. If you do not have DivX player installed on your computer, the website should prompt you to install it first.
  4. The limit or slower for me too. Duno if I could stomach plowing over somebodys kid. I dont want to find out either. Id prefer not to have any involuntary man-slaughter charges on my record. Im very cautious with my driving habbits when other people are around. Doing a couple of donuts on an abandoned icy parking lot it hard to resist though.
  5. I *** you and your new Mac. I use a g5 with dual core 1.8s, only 1gb of ram, to do video editing using Final Cut Pro 4.5HD. Im not impressed with its speed but perhaps comparing to a quad core 3.0 would be the diference between night and day. I was on Macs website recently and custom configured one with all the stuff Id like it to have. Come to about $15000. :'( :'( Guess Ill keep wishing
  6. Hey thanks for the great ideas. I really like that bracket from BPS. Think I will try to make one like it. Thanks again!
  7. Congratulations on passing your tests! I was worried I might loose mine cause of my vision, but wound up passing the eye exam with flying colors with no corrective lenses.. Im currently not employed where my CDL is required but I still renew it. Good luck & be safe. :)
  8. I wonder how that guy got hold of a sledge hammer in an office?? Ive seen most of those clips at one time or another. Still funny to watch them though.
  9. Ok ok ok Im the one responsible for stiring up this hornets nest by making this quote. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I agree with all of the above mentioned and would like to add; Someone who does not have to have his wifes permission to leave the house. I mean good grief, How many people have I invited fishing and I get "Well let me see what the wife says, or Well the wife wants me to do this or that". I tell my wife when Im going fishin, or we are going fishing. End of conversation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just wanted to clairify a few things. The post may make one assume that on a day I just barge in and say to my wife "Im going fishing no mater what screw you and your plans". Well thats not the case. My wife does keep me informed of family events so I know whats happening and when. When it comes to unexpected events that require my attention like for example the car is leaking antifreeze and is overheating and she is not able to leave the house, well then if I had plans to go fishing then they would be promptly cancelled. I am lucky by the fact that my wife is very trustworthy of me leaving the house for long periods of time alone. Her hobbies {mostly craft stuff} and my hobbies dont conflict with each other. So when I say Im going fishing end of conversation, its cool with her because she knows Im probably going to take Jacob my 7 year old son with me and she will be free to do whatever she wants with no kids attatched. Moms like that! So in fact she kind of likes it when I go fishing. I had two people in mind when I made this post One friend I have invited fishing and other activities and he never comes because his wife seems to have another plan for him. His son now about 13 considers it a delight to go to a Bass Pro Shops and just browse but thats about all that happens with his fishing interests so far. I dont even ask anymore. The other friend does go fishing with me on rare occasion but the past two times I arrive at his house to pick him up he has cancelled on me at the last minute. One of those occasions was a wife had other plans thing. I will say this in their defense, they both have a larger and more active family than I do so it is much harder for them to get away. But I still get frustrated over their reasons for not going thus the reason for answering the post the way I did. I did not mention the fact that I do have a 7 year old son that I started teaching how to fish last spring. It is a real blessing to watch him learn but the questions are endless and hard to answer sometimes, but still a blessing. I guess if it werent for him I would fish alone. Perhaps I should have mentioned him in the post too so it would not have seemed so negative. :)
  10. Mine always out-fishes me and rubs it in for weeks so I dont like to bring her> ;D

  12. Couldnt help but notice the grin on that face from ear to ear. ;D Id probably do the same. Congratulations! Nice fish.
  13. I have been in this situation many times unintentionaly. I have played the lure in and out of the water but never got a strike doing it. Maybe I need to play it a little while longer. Last year my line caught a large high branch and wraped 3 times and I could not get it loose. Luckily the tree had been dead long enough I was able to rock the branch untill it broke off and come crashing down into the water scaring off any bass within 300 foot im sure. Guess that would have been my PB Stickfish??
  14. Sounds like a cold solder joint in the audo circuit to me. probably not much you can do about it from a end user stand point. If you take it in somewhere they will probably advise you to replace the main board. I am assuming this computer has built in audio on the mainboard. Another option would be to have separate audio card put in it. The onboard audio can be disabled and then you can plug your speakers into the new one. You might try cleaning the connector end that plugs into the back of your computer for the speakers. If you wiggle it around while its plugged in and the static gets worse or better it might be an indication the plug contacts are dirty, in that case you might want to spray some contact cleaner inside the audio jack on the computer. Be sure to shut down and unplug everything first. If this unit does have a separate sound card installed already you might be able to reseat the card to fix your problem. hope this helps.
  15. I wear a 1x to a 2x shirt depending on who made them. I ordered the 2 x size and it fits perfect. Its lined with fleece on the inside. I ordered the black one cause I work around black toner and the red one seemed kind of flashy. Well the black one is kind of flashy too with all the labels on it. Maybe thats why people didnt like them. The back has a huge BPS label on it. In a half a day two people have asked me "Hey where did you get that Jacket"!! Well it has BPS all over it. Just wondering what Bill Engvall reply to this would be, other than HERES YOUR SIGN. And also the past few clothing items I have purchased from Walmart have been vert cheezy so I wanted to try someplace else.
  16. Yep, sure did! Never got a response on it so I figured nobody had one. Finally received it in the mail today, now I know and you know the answer to my question. Go Figure ;D
  17. I need to install the sonar transducer that come with my Eagle Cuda242 onto my 12' jon boat. This boat is carried to and fro in the back of my pickup and sometimes is loaded and unloaded by one person. The tranducer would be knocked off in no time if I mounted it by the book on the transom. Im not too crazy about it being mounted to the trolling motor as it is removed prior to loading and unloading and the wires will surely be a hassle. Ive considered the suction cup mount but I just dont see it sticking to the rough hull surface. I was thinking about making some type of removable apparatus that could be fitted to the transom for quick install and removal, or some type of apparatus that could be raised and lowered. Having a trailer would solve alot of problems but thats not going to happen soon. Any ideas or suggestions appriciated.
  18. I love it ! Very nice jacket. Well worth $50.00 IMO
  19. I used the name Rocket Scientist as a CB handle for years. I dont do CB radio anymore and have moved into the ham radio side of things where you are assigned a set of call leters you identify with. I was in search of a board name for a copier tech website several years ago and decided on Rocket Psyantist with the intention of mispelling scientist. I chose to spell it that way just to make a common name different. So when I decided to join this disscussion board I chose Fishin Psyantist. Im employed as a Ricoh office machine technician. A ham radio operator, and a wanabee bass fisherman by hobby, and maintain a low power television station for my church in my spare time between hobbies. I am in no way an intellectual, thick eye glass wearing, weird minded, wild grey haired, highly educated person my screen name may make some think that I am or may be. The screen name is just a name not indicative of anything,,,,,,,,,,,really. Well,,, I used to assemble and fly the Estes Rockets sold here at the local Hobby Lobby. ::)If you havent tried these they are alot of fun, especially for the kids.
  20. Love the JITB commercials. They are the greatest! Welcome to the boards Graves. We all hope you enjoy it here. Dont be a stranger, post often.
  21. Noticed this jacket was on clearance on the BPS website. Just wondering if anybody else had one of these and how you like it?
  22. Got a CUDA EAGLE fish finder from the wife & kids. This should go good with the 12ft jon boat. I was hoping to try it out today but it was way too windy. Lots of clothes, but this is the first christmas ever I didnt get a single pair of socks. : Bought the wife a new Motorola Razor cell phone for christmas. She really needed it too, her old phone was about 3 years old and was just about shot.
  23. What the HecK??? It doesnt come with a Barbie fishing pole? ;D Please tell us you forgot to put the pole in before you took the pictures. ;D
  24. I regret selling my Honda MC several years ago. It looked alot like the one in the picture.
