I got a Fish Eagle 7' ml - IM7 4 - 10# line , 1/8 - 1/2 oz. lure wt. for my new d/s rod this winter. It is replacing a 6'10" ml.

I gotta get me some free rig wts.

I lost both motors once. Trying to paddle back to the ramp against the wind with one oar will not work. But throwing your anchor as far foward as you can, wait for it to sink and then pulling yourself with the anchor line,then lift anchor and repeat about a 100 times - does. Don't ask how i know....

If you are depending on 1 oar to get you back to the ramp (in a boat) you are wishful thinking. Odds are a little better if wind or current takes you back and you just need a little direction help of an oar. 1 oar in a boat is only a weapon, or a push stick.

I have not lost my passion yet, and hoping i never do. I have been bass fishing for over 50 years, and each spring anticipation ramps up (not quite a fever pitch, but close. ) This year is a little different as i am semi - retiring starting in April. Fishing only on weekends, on crowded, relatively small lakes takes it's toll come july and august.

The natural lakes i fish, less than 500 acres, clear, 20 - 90 ft. deep, are mostly lm, but some sm too. Funny thing is i catch lm 10 to 1 over sm , but usually my biggest of the year is a sm.

For those that hate the northern dropshot tourneys - you are in for a long season. FFS isn't much more fun except for the shaking of the rod thing.

J. Brick - the Lions defense is okay. They addressed the defensive backfield before the season started but 1 guy got hurt and the other only played 2 games. OC Johnson said today he's coming back to Detroit. A big no to Seattle and Washington, he wants to win a "big game". (my words) I am feeling a little better now.

I was a little bummed. Not for the Lions losing, but losing after that first half start. It was a total team loss. Dropped passes and missed tackles cost them.
