Rolo that is a sweet bladebait that I have never seen. Thanks for the pic.
I think MOST times color doesn't matter to actively feeding fish. For me, color becomes a little more important when they remove the feed bag.
When will Ajay invite me up to spend a weekend with him when those big ol brownies are shallow in the spring? Or maybe when could I scrape enuff cash to fly out to Cali and fish with Tom for a week? Maybe spend a month south of the border to organize Rauls tackle shed. Or possibly see a stupid Lions game with Slonzep at Soldier field so I can boo the lions to my hearts content ( it's like i'm hangin' with al bundy!) Or visit / learn tacklemaking with Allen. The list goes on, but it's not about the fishes.
I am toying with using old spinnerbaits for making bladed jigs to eliminate the poor oring connection. I have 3 different head shapes to play with and it appears that they will work. I'll try them out this weekend.
I am the same as most others..perch / bluegill / craw, but also like white, although no shad in my lakes. After killin' them on a friends bladed jig with a "firecraw" skirt and bluegill zipper trailer, I don't take colors too seriously these days...
I have been looking pretty hard at a Ranger 1680 (or 1682?), not a "family" boat, but has a lot of nice fishing features that are options on Lund or Crestliner, with a very competitive price.
I don't have the patience to fish a ned any deeper than 8'. I use it for docks and shallow targets only. Too many better options for water deeper than that. (the opinion expressed is that of the author and does not necessarily coinside with anyone.)
