  1. Can't say without seeing it, but that doesn't sound like it's the rod. With a sharp hook and good technique, you can get the barb through with a wet noodle. What jig heads and line are you using? And either BC or spinning will work equally well, it's a matter of preference, I personally like BC for everything but the smallest lightest lures.
  2. I'm just mad that Loudon and Fairfax keep stealing the PG and Charles teachers....
  3. It's a good lure, but yeah, there is a lot of hype with it. Try a standard spook, and thread a bead and a bobber stopper on the line, and leave the tag long.

  5. There is also organized forces driving up real estate prices. Houses going for mega bucks in San Fran, NYC, suburbs of DC, and certain places in the south makes sense. Iowa, Osh Kosh, and other sticks doesn't. That bubble will burst in time, as they always do.
  6. Which I don't. I don't add more bait or hook when I want a faster ROF or vise versa.
  7. I don't see that as subtle, you are doubling the weight.
  8. Yup, almost 2 decades of little inflation and low interest rates has created the impression that it's the status quo, it's not, The Piper is here, so plan and spend accordingly. Look at the 70s for a reference point, but on steroids.
  9. Or Santa Claus, I used to coordinate with the staffs of Congress, WH, and DOD, when I had the misfortune of drafting constituent response correspondence, some of the letters are very touching and sad, but most are laugh out loud funny.
  10. "Where does virgin wool come from?... Ugly sheep"...
  11. If you can't find one that fits, you can build, or have built a base that flushes up against the boat and marries to the base of the windshield easy enough. Fiberglassed marine plywood is your friend.
  12. That is the curly-wurly that a little Early Pearly came by in...
  13. I got a stack of those, some deserved, some knot...
  14. Or, he can show up spooled with Tatsu and a PopMax, and get his butt handed to him by BG and an Academy popper. I own about 12 PopMax poppers, and I have never bought one. I have a couple more lined up next month...
  15. Berkley has changed most of their mono lines over the years, not sure if it was intentional or not, but it's a thing.
  16. And if it runs east to west, then what?
  17. I like to stick a piece of Senko knockoff in the tube and use a straight worm hook with a pegged worm weight.
  18. 95 is probably when they retitled it as a salvage, it appears to be mid eighties.
  19. Like towing trespassers?
  20. Bandito Bug then...
  21. I can't think of any plastic that won't catch bass, I have a few favorites, but several competing products would work just a s well I'm sure. I like to have something with me that I can cut or bite down into a different presentation if required. I find getting the hook and weight matched up well is more important than the actual bait.
  22. I rig pre spawn large swimbaits with them, as well as liveline and use them as lure hooks for salt water.
  23. No, but I have given up (never took it up actually) on fishing anywhere from anything where the fishing sucks.
