  1. Took a while for parents to figure out that the only reason I was into model planes was for the Duco cement...
  2. Huffing cutting oil, see now that explains a lot...
  3. I wouldn't consider one better than the other. They are both ok, and both catch fish, but I like others better most times.
  4. I'm not sure if I read it correctly, but if you are using a topshot that is significantly lighter than your braid and leader, that's not good. I like 200 braid to 130 short topshot . Also, I would just cut the hooks with a bolt cutter rather than try to get them out. I've got a ton of 9/0 Mustad 9104s that work well, but anything similar will do.
  5. (a) Nothing (b) Nothing (c) Nothing (d) All of the above
  6. You are supposed to wait until Christmas morning to open presents (midnight on the 24th is acceptable)...
  7. Eye reeds good, eye yust wont too sea if eye kan half mi naim updayted bye it sheft sew it's tands aut... Actually I'm just procrastinating... ?
  8. Shooting video (and pictures) cuts down on fishing time, so I don't do that. I mostly watch fishing (and other subject) videos when I'm bored for entertainment value.
  9. I would say "Forgive them father, for they know knot what they do" but I've been asked knot to... Cast both with right arm, crank BCs with right hand, crank spinning with left, like a human, Happy New Year!
  10. If they are unnaturally concentrated in with big cats, yeah, they are going to get slurped like M&Ms...
  11. Hold on, let me put this mat down to cushion the microphone, If winter fishing vertically for stacked fish in sticky bottom, a 3/4 oz Silver Buddy or one of it's clones modified with a split ring instead of a snap, and trebles that will straighten when I really yank on them, with the point of each facing down clipped off fished on 15 lb BG. Always catches, hardly ever loose one.
  12. I have a shallow shiner/carp colored one, that I modified a tad in my large early season big bass box, I started throwing it when I was taking $ from pickerel experts going on about how you need to use small lures from them, and after getting a consistent big bass by catch bite in late winter early spring fishing it like an original floating minnow Rap, it earned it's place in the rotation. I also like the smaller deep(er) diving ones, mostly #5 and #7, but they are more of a niche bait for me in cold water.
  13. Yeah, tiny walking baits make about as much sense as, well, tiny walking baits...
  14. The Rap will dive 4-5 feet, the Arbogast a bit over 6. Actual diving depth will vary with line diameter, cast length, retrieve speed, and tip location relative to water surface, so you could easily be around +/- 2 feet
  15. How do we block out guys from FL, TX, AL, and GA from posting on winter threads?...
  16. I have shot monkeys down from tree tops with a blow gun, just saying.... I'll probably hide the darts and order some brush jigs, darn it!...
  17. LOL. Haven't figured out how to topwater punch, and when I get it to work, the catch ratio is terrible and I'm shivering to the bone...
  18. Goldfish (carassius auratus), come in many varieties, and yes, some will only grow to a few inches or a bit more, while others will grow to similar sizes to carp, also once in the wild, they will cross breed with other carps. Those little chubby things with the bug eyes and double tails are the same species as some of those big ones swimming around in some waters, kinda like dogs, there are yorkies and great Danes.
  19. Anyone who claims a rod (any rod) to be good or not good for "topwater" either doesn't know what he/she is talking about, doesn't know how to express themselves, or both...
  20. No, they are goldfish, which are in turn just funny colored carp hybrids.
  21. Here are all of mine, along with a list of all the fluoros I use...
  22. LOL, I have a Kansas live performance on BetaMax if you are interested...
