  1. Yeah! if we don't fact check them, soon they'll have movies about guys with flying hammers shooting webs from their wrists...
  2. The difference in viscosity (density also changes but has no direct effect) caused by the difference in salinity between brackish and salt water(roughly 17 and 33 parts per thousand for each, or half) will have negligible if even measurable effect on the penetration of water in the relatively large openings as found in a fishing reel. So while yes, given a precise enough experiment with small enough openings, fresh water will flow faster and easier than salt water, in real world applications that is actually moot, AND, even if the flow of salt to brackish water was reduced by half (which it isn't), the concentration of salt would be the same in the water in the reel.
  3. I'm sure they do, around here there is a couple of weeks in the late winter/early spring where they are on top of each other.
  4. The South of the Border billboards on I95 at the Carolinas are funny... We used to drive down to FL from NYC to fish and dive (and other stuff the mods don't like me to talk about) every couple of months, 19 hours, 4 drivers with only fuel/pee stops. I like Slow Children at Play too...
  5. Yeah, for about 20 seconds... The Jaws quote is "You're gonna need a bigger boat". The only thing I've ever been aboard that I would think I'll make it back in those seas is a 530 foot destroyer.
  6. Tour Grade swim jig, bleeding spinnerbait, buzzbait, KVD 1.0 crank.
  7. The fish are everywhere and nowhere until you find them, and then that's where they will be, I call it the double gill slit technique, something about a dead catfish...
  8. "You're gonna need a bigger boat"
  9. You don't, but then you are just chasing a state of mind, me, I chase fish, and purchasing and owning equipment is just a mean to that end. I don't think of my Calais or Calcuttas any differently than one of my Mettles or Black Max.
  10. Or any other way of reducing the force applied, I opt for mono and a soft rod, and can pull most fish in with little drag ever going out on 10 lb. line, without bending hooks.
  11. Haven't seen it yet, but I was at the NEX last evening, and $400 for a 75" 4K Samsung was too good to pass up, so the 60" will go in the bedroom, and will be screening TOP GUN II on the new one, I might even hook up the entire 200 watt 7.1 and rewatching some Thor as well, (unless the ice thaws, then it's pickerel)...
  12. No, I try to avoid talking about any of the sports/hobbies I engage in whenever possible.
  13. To paraphrase Henry Ford, you can get a Super Spook jr in any color you want, as long as it's Florida bass...
  14. I like a little sugar in my distilled water, and a little oak aging...
  15. It's it's rebranding then meh, if they change the baits, I would be mad if I didn't already have 3 lifetimes supply...
  16. I have so much stashed plastics in a spare bedroom, that the VOCs are actually starting to become a problem...
  17. It's a requirement by the state of California, companies put them on all their packaging rather than print CA approved versions, it's in all sorts of things not just tackle, in this case it's because of lead, but there is a long list of substances and chemicals.
  18. Recreational anglers be funny...
  19. They make zippered ones? For men?...
  20. One, or two power poles?...
  21. I'll send you the $3 in Crypto and Tesla stock...
