  1. This ^. I like a spinnerbait that mimics the size and hues of the forage. Give me a 3 colorado in front of a 4 1/2 willow, and I'll move the world.
  2. What is a chatterbait?...
  3. When I'm limited in time, I go to the A spots, and throw the A baits. I practice when I'm not in a rush...
  4. I don't care how anyone holds their fish. I tried to stick this one in the camera, but...
  5. Reason at The Mattawoman, we're out the door presently...
  6. A needle nose, hemostats, a flat screwdriver with a v notched out, dykes, and patience. Hooks in/around gills are usually easier to get loose, behind the tongue or throat gets touchy. Lipless seem to like to disappear in a bass' mouth for me sometimes. Its the smaller fish that get in trouble that are more difficult, with the larger ones, its like working under the hood of a 60s chevy.
  7. No 2 rods are identical, some brands or models are more consistent than others, but there are always differences. Why I won't buy a rod without handling it first. I used to make a good living customizing supposedly identical carbon fibre sporting goods equipment for pro players. Product managers of the different brands would assure me that unlike the competition, their products were all consistent, they weren't.
  8. Yeah, I agree with K_Mac, different cranks do different things, don't lump them together. That being said, I find I either do best with a slow steady retrive, or a crazy fast erratic one. Like with all other baits, let the fish tell you what they want. I'd start with one squarebill, and a medium runner (I'd suggest the KVD 1.5 and Bomber Fat free) and take it from there.
  9. I had a girlfriend I called peg, she lost a leg in a tragic bass fishing accident, her reel name was ilene... Seriously though, if I wanted to carolina rig (or whatever LMB guys call that finesse CR thing), I'd carolina rig, I always peg.
  10. NA in PA anymore...
  11. Thanks, looks good. I'll add that they like many of the same lures as bass in medium to heavy cover. I use my less than favorite frogs and speed worms mostly, but anything that will run through cover will work. Haven't caught any real big ones, but there seems to be more and larger ones every year. Seen a couple caught in some of the swampy stuff just up from Mattawoman already.
  12. Wait, are you saying that there aren't little fish symbols down there happily swimming right to left going beep, beep, beep?....Oh the humanity!...
  13. There's a bunch of kids on your lawn...
  14. I fish 12 lb Big Game 90% of the time (10 and 15 too). I use heavy braid for frogs, I don't use flouro, I don't have time to worry about knots and hate retying all the time, but to each his own.
  15. I relocated some bigguns in there from a nearby pond after a guy posted pics on another site and guys started coming from DE.
  16. Daiwa makes good reels, I find their BCs a bit too small for my hands though. We've killed a bunch of tuna with their Saltists and Saltigas.
  17. 13 Fish is the rod de jour, just wish they were made from some vegetable...
  18. I usually use gammy round bends, but I just painted and ballasted a JB and I grabbed what I had on hand, those wide gap brown ones (triple grip maybe). I likes!, they are staying pinned really good, I may use these more. You can't go wrong with a short shank good quality hook.
  19. Waldorf , MD? You know that puddle behind the mall?...
  20. I have to go find a Rosary.
  21. I'm going to pray harder...
  22. They fall a little faster than a fps, depending on line diameter, I like to use heavy mono and fish them like a JB when fish are deeper and active this time of year. But they work well as a stop and go crank when fish are deeper year round. This is for the older one, I haven't tried the scatter one. Good multi species bait.
  23. Better than Lunesta...
  24. I'm going to pray for you...
