  1. Yes, but you could also deliberately smash your testicles with two bricks, I'm thinking you won't be doing either for long...
  2. Take a 10lb spool of XL and cross out the 10 and write in 12. Or better yet, have a buddy do it, and not tell you...
  3. That's how I do it. My wife writes "Don't fish stubborn" on my left forearm with a sharpie, when we go out for $.
  4. The warming trend before the spawn, late spring, early fall. Lures depend on the body of water and conditions, but slightly smaller versions of the usual suspects. A finesse spinnerbait, smallish square bill, trick worm, 4 1/2" sluggo, curly grub on a round jighead, or something similar is really all you need. Try to find cooperative fish not buried in cover, and you'll be 90% there.
  5. Like a building? full of books? You know we're almost 1/4 into the 21st century, right?
  6. Let me just make sure I understand, a 2 lb fish was pulling drag? ya'll LMB guys is funny... The only time a fish that size should take drag is when he's bait, and everything goes dark. i think I'm going to open up a fish fighting school, and have the fresh water guys come out with med gear and catch 8-16 lb bluefish. It's hard to really learn the limits of your tackle when the green blob at the other end is just waddling around.
  7. It doesn't matter what kind of knot you use or how many holes you go through. Had you left the knot and followed the process the result would be the same. Just go fishing, you are making it way too difficult.
  8. Math and science? I'll stick to the Magic 8 Ball...
  9. Balance over weight. I picked up a first generation Mojo Bass once, and threw up a little in my mouth.
  10. I will wager any amount against that.
  11. Are we really doing this again?
  12. If only cosmetic companies and soft plastic companies could use the same glitter (I'm thinking orange and gold)...
  13. I find myself using one more and more. I don't particularly like fishing them, but they sure catch fish, and that I do like. Retrieve varies depending on time of year/water temp, and the conditions/mood of the fish. Everything from slow rolling, to burning, and start and stop. The trailer can be tailored to size, profile, and action, so it makes for a versatile tool. Ripping it out of grass has been the ticket lately.
  14. I never use a loop knot, but were I to use one with braid, I'd tie a uni with like 9 wraps or so, and tighten it down to the loop size I wanted. But Why?
  15. That's got to be the ugliest buzz bait I've ever seen.
  16. if by Senko you mean gill net, then, yeah.
  17. You see this in most sporting goods hard goods. The equipment is better than required, and in no way the limiting factor to success. This leaves the industry with having to emphasize or even imagine miniscule or dubious "advantages" and "innovations". Having attended several different trade shows in sporting goods I'll leave ya'll with this: Just because you like sausage and hot dogs doesn't mean it's a good idea to tour a slaughter house, and if you do, don't be "shocked" when they sweep the bits into the grinder
  18. I take the hooks off a popper and use it as a bobber for plastic, but more often feather lures, so technically, yes.
  19. Its a trade show, so technically you have to be in the business, but give them $150, and you are in. I'm registered, but I'm skipping it, I am going to Korea instead.
  20. Pretty much anything that walks upright and has opposing thumbs...
  21. Yeah, I find when fish are on a top water bite, you can get them to bite several lures, which is a reason I don't usually throw a frog in open water. Usually, if I can't get them to take a popper or buzz bait, I'm doing something else (after showing them a wake bait)
  22. No, no. The way Lure De Jour® works is we say this is the best thing ever! and ignore the fact that (in this particular case) it jams with a barely perceptible piece of grass, has suspect hook up ratio, and lands like a grenade. Everyone buys a bunch, and then they move on to the next thing.
  23. What is a pre-made Ned rig? Aren't we just sliding half a senko on a jighead? or am I missing something?
  24. when I want my swim jigs to be lighter, I shave the sides of the head with a pocket knife. You could do this before painting the heads.
