  1. I know this one. I don't have a bucket cloud picture storage thingy, but I have a pond with crystal clear water in PG County where matching the bugs works great (not this time of year), and I've caught several nice ones with bugs in their throats. Black/brown/orange with black/red flake works well. I went out for a couple of hours yesterday and today and caught some goods one.
  2. I stand corrected. You CAN learn something about fishing on the InterWeb®...
  3. I'll post a picture from the boat in mid January from the North East ocean fishing with no gloves. Wimps!
  4. Are you a fan of catching fish without breaking knots and having line issues?
  5. Ah, no. Its not like receiving a gift. Go to the customs website for what the letter of the law says. In practice though, on most international transactions, duties are not collected, much like sales tax for interstate commerce, but that's a different can of worms. The $ amount on which duty is incurred was recently increased for many items, again check the custom website, its all in there.
  6. That is the new patented optimized gapped winding technology, geared at saving weight.... Seriously, Eveb though it won't affect performance in the least, on a premium product like that, anything short of stelllar workmanship is unacceptable.
  7. You're welcome. https://andemonofilament.com/products/tournament?variant=47456647684
  8. I don't know what is in Gulp® juice, but I'm pretty sure it's fish crack, no respecting fluke (flounder) tournament angler fishes without it. I rub some Smelly Jelly® on soft plastics when bass are spitting it out quickly, and that usually seals the deal. Bacon grease, garlic infused olive oil work well. Fish slime in a pinch...
  9. It depends on where you are fishing, and what baits you will be using, but with 2 rods, I'd do 12-15 lb mono on one, and 30-50 braid on the other.
  10. What, no snagging Gizzards in the Patapsco?...
  11. What's the point?...sorry for the barb, eye'll try to temper my sharp comments, I guess there is a gap in how I understood your statement, maybe my perspective is a little bent, or I'm just set in my ways and other folks' ideas don't penetrate my thinking, I'll try to reverse my position and off set my prejudices.. (I can't think of anything for kirbed, but I'll circle back if I do)
  12. No, they will certainly be less aggressive, and it will require a different approach to catch them, but they can be caught year round. Usually, they will be active on a smaller window, and they will become more selective. I like a jerkbait, lipless and blade bait. I like to hit areas I am familiar with, as it makes it easier to locate fish, as they go to the same places, and group together. Once you've put in some time and eliminated all the water where they are not, it improves motivation to put on the layers and head out there. Also keep in mind that a warming trend of 2 or 3 days can move them shallower and make them more aggressive. I've caught fish with a square bill in open pockets in the ice.
  13. Most "basic" spinning reels are more than adequate for fresh water fishing. I'd use it and see how it goes.
  14. Fake news!, move along!, nothing to see here!...
  15. Get a room!...
  16. Were I to cast an umbrella, it would be on65 braid or 25 lb Ande.
  17. Be careful, there is a fine line between waxing and fondling...
  18. The blade(s) generate the vibration, the rest of the spinnerbait (primarily the wire frame) transmit the vibration. You can break it down further into the interaction, and resonance of the vibrations, but that might be a little overkill. Try switching blades with other spinnerbaits. I don't particularly like Wae Eagle spinnerbaits, and change out blades on most spinnerbaits to taylor them to what I'm trying to do. I'll also mention that more vibration isn't always a good thing.
  19. I see bad advise is timeless..
  20. Flouro carbon line has terrible knot breaking strength, additionally, because of its physical characteristics it is more prone to be damaged during the knot tying process, and once damaged looses more breaking strength, again additionally it weakens from stress at lower levels than its breaking point, ie it becomes weaker every time you pull on it beyond a certain point. These are 3 separate items, which in combination cause the failures everyone experiences. I see no advantage to using it in most (and no bass) fishing situations, but the guy who sells Flouro's kid needs to go to college too, so carry on...
