  1. Yeah, its a mess, Yamaha has manufactured a bunch of Mercs too.
  2. Oh man, thanks, FIFM. I hope an organic non-pesticide avocado tree tupelo falls on you while you are enjoying something gluten free deep fried at your favorite outdoor cafe BBQ shack while waiting for your goat yoga appointment trist...
  3. Jet black hair, green eyes, alabaster skin, and Audrey Hepburn clavicles, and no, no improvement.
  4. Its the same motor with different cosmetics.

  6. They can chase the "tickle the plopper" market all they want, but I hope they don't change the old one.

  8. A lot of the banter and interaction is about the back and forth. If one is interested in information and data, searching past posts is more effective, but won't trigger the endorphin response, now what's the best all around rod?...
  9. I think you got your techila the same place I got my Rolix watch. Patrón is what you want...
  10. Yeah, I do it when I want to pseudo mojo or splitshot, or sometimes when I want to weigh down the nose of a JB. We use barrel swivels a lot in salt water, so I always have a bunch around. For line twist, I go with a ball bearing swivel, but not often.
  11. Unlike mammals, most fish don't stop growing, that being said, growth slows considerably with age, and is also more influenced by environment and nutrition. Under ideal conditions bass will grow to 26" to 28". Of course most will never get this long, and some will get longer.
  12. An ingredient originally found in jellyfish...
  13. It takes literally 2 seconds to make sure your line doesn't line up with the split in a split ring, and if you upsize a round one and center it on the lure, some will hunt randomly rather nicely at higher speeds.
  14. "It's Kkkkken, ccccoming to kkkkill me"....
  15. Get you a couple of old ones in any color at any fishing flea market and strip in down to bone, you'll never go back. Or...
  16. Are you planning to add to the rod you already have? Or are you switching out? A 6'9"-7' MH fast rod is a good all around rod, but its a jack of all trades, master(baiter) of none situation.
  17. I'm pretty sure that upon my death bed, my only significant regret will be having ever gotten into sporting goods retailing. (and maybe being restricted to the ship in Rio)... GO NAVY!
  18. I use 6:3 to 1 for chatters, (and most other things) but pretty much any reel will work. Stop being afraid and get out there with something and see if it works or doesn't for YOU, that's really the only thing that matters. Oh and IMNSHO a glass rod isn't really the way to go with a chatter, but again, go out there and see how it does for you.
  19. Yeah, in a pinch, but you can pick up better "cheap" spinnerbaits for like $1.50-$3.00. They all catch fish. The wire on the Wally spinnerbait will fatigue quickly when bent and straightened, and they are light for their size, but what do you want for a buck. I like the Cabela's cheapies better for $1.50, and have a couple of hundred "good" spinnerbaits I've picked up along the way for less than $2 each. I usually wire the skirt and mod the blades, so I'm really looking for the weight and head shape, not color or blade configuration. I really dig fishing spinnerbaits.
  20. Another "cater to the enthusiast" failure, that got bought out and bounced around by competitors and holding companies. Nice climbing wall though. The Fair Lakes VA one became a DSG, they are doing good there.
  21. No. (But if I were to ever use fluorocarbon, I'd retie 3x per fish...)
  22. I like them all. I think its a matter of finding a couple that work for you on the water(s) that you fish. The trick is to know what they are doing with the rod movements you are imparting. Sometimes its crazy erratic snaps, and sometimes its almost nothing at all. Also take the time to tune (or at least check) each individual bait, and its not a bad thing to have a few that slightly rise and slightly sink ready to go. The last thing that is sometimes overlooked is how deep will the JB dive when jerked,, some will be feet others inches. That can make a big difference. The newer baits as well as the old standbys all catch fish and have a place and time IMNSHO. YMMV (but it won't).
