  1. Nope. We are headed down there in March to target exotics.
  2. Take off you hoser! Beauty ey?...
  3. YouTube and Twitter really need to consider blocking bass fishing accounts.
  4. an·gle2 /ˈaNGɡəl/ verb fish with rod and line. "there are no big fish left to angle for" noun ARCHAIC a fishhook. "you will be pleased too, if you find a Trout at one of our Angles" While the word angle for hook is archaic, the verb to angle is still a word.
  5. Mason-Dixon line is essentially the PA/MD border, so you are a couple of weeks early with that assessment for the northern range. That being said, as soon as there is an upswing in water temps I like a jerkbait and a chatterbait. As the water warms a tad into high 40s low 50s, a squarebill, spinnerbait, and a large swimbait. Once they start thinking of the beds, plastic creatures and jigs.
  6. Sharp was the term we used for guys in the know, much like being "In" was used elsewhere. A stick has been a rod for as long as I can remember. As a kid I always dreamed of my first surf custom stick. A lot of the pros refer to their rackets as paddles.
  7. Fishing Indiana behind Colorado makes me a better angler...
  8. That is the universe's way of making up for all the times guys push down on their analog boga scales before reading the weight, conservation of mass...
  9. Darn! All this time I thought I invented the bucktail weed guard!...
  10. IMNSHO the gear ratio depends more on what cranks one is fishing and how one is fishing them than the rod one is using.
  11. I'm only 1/16 Italian (and lived in Howard Beach for a spell in the '70s), but I hear somewhere between Ambrose and 17 Fathoms, hypothetically of course... In the ocean, in a pinch, a dropper with braid or dental floss and a small carabiner works, and when reeling in a fish, you just unclip it and keep reeling. I vote for the "Alpine-Floss" rig....
  12. A long moderate action MH power rod with a long handle with a levelwind round reel with a clicker and maybe 30-50 lb braid with a 30 lb mono leader. Ugly Stiks work well (or a custom $600 rod...) Hey, do ya'll think trolling an A-rig would work?.....
  13. We used to use those window sashes as sinkers when deep dropping. NYC housing would periodically change out the old windows for newer ones. Those things pictured are not trolling weights, of course pretty much any sinker can be adapted as trolling ballast. I vote for the HUD rig.....
  14. I think at some point, crappie, walleye, striped bass, and salt water anglers are going to have to do a bass angler intervention and let 'em know it's all just fishing....
  15. The Booyah in colder water, the RES when I'm covering water and want to fish faster.
  16. I was thinking Ghostbusters....
  17. Find the bait you want to use, find the hook that works best with that bait (then find the line and rod that work best for the above in the particular situation fished) FIN, (pun intended) [roll credits].
  18. Some nice work there. I like a solid black marabou, a white/grey (with a hint of a black back) bucktail, and a forage colored (something that suggests gill, craw, or perch) hackle on a round, aspirin, or arkie 1/8-1/4 oz head.
  19. Neither answer is correct. Silk lines were sized by diameter and a ( or a series of) letter(s). synthetic lines are sized by weight and a number. So numbers go back to the first synthetic lines, and letters go through the last silk lines. There are still some "purists" who use cane rods with natural lines, but those are mostly sized by weight, and more often trial and error. Bass fished in the Catskills in the early '70s, and you needed to know your trout just for the street cred,
