I think the percentage of women to men anglers hasn't changed much, and the level of participation will probably vary regionally and culturally quite a bit. What does tech have to do with women fishing?

LOL. I'm starting to feel like I may have at least a couple of the Apostles who fished... I don't do autographs, I've met and worked with quite a few celebrities and pro athletes, but I probably would make an exception for Larry Nixon, always liked his style, and KVD because, well, he's KVD.

I just tie some black hackle and maribou on a small hook, nothing fancy. fish it on heavy leader so it sinks slowly. I will tie some other colors, but the fish don't seem to care. a store bought stone fly is money for numbers (yes it will work if there are no stone flies where you fish, and no, it's not top water)...

That should be a limited edition custom color.

I find fishing flea markets and other such gatherings are a better place to get bargains than pawn shops and thrift shops, state sales are also a good source, but the finds are going to be hit or miss, mostly miss "Oh look, another glass turtle!, how much for the Niagara Falls spoon?"

Any fly rod is going to be capable of landing bass. A heavier weight one is required to cast larger more wind resistant flies/lures. I have a 5/6 wt that I use sometimes. An 8 wt is going to be a bit much, a 7 wt would be my choice. You can buy or make a shooting head to throw larger flies with a lighter rod if you don't need really long distances. Bass will eat surprisingly small flies on a regular basis. I catch a bunch while fishing for shellcrackers on fly, which is in itself a lot of fun. This time of year a large one full of steroids has a lot of attitude.

Every Pop Max and Pop X I own, I won from guys who think they are the best poppers. I open up my box and ask them to pick which popper they want me to fish with, winner keeps the other guys popper. Sucker bet, kind of the piscatorial 3 card monte. My vote for best for the money popper (fished stock) is the Zell Pop/Boss Pop, both sizes.

So which would that be?
